standard turbo manifold with a xr6 turbo , small intercooler set up 1 of the old avo kits would be good aftermarket ecu and injectors and a tune . That's 4 grand gone . If you put some thought into it you could make a set up like this look near stock

Put a bigger O-Ring in it, and that should open up the system a fair bit, and maybe a couple of BT1 chips.

Will your 15. You Still dont even have your L's and your talking about P's holing ya back. Nothing wrong with playing with your car before your P's, think we all done that. Just spend your cash on keeping it original and clean instead of power. Replace parts that are showing damage/age by chasing up imaculate ones. By the time you have the in perfect shape then time will tell if you want to blow more cash on running gear. Eh you will probly change your mind every 3 hours anyway.

Diff gears ( 3.9s or 4.11s) and a mini spool . Don't bother with anything else . If it's auto then a 5 sp conversion and just keep up the maintenance . Maybe advance the timing a bit run it on pulp . If you don't even have a license yet then this is more than enough to keep you entertained .

Ahah thanls boys! Yeah most people telling me the same, to keep ot looking stock and worry bout the body for now, but the only reason i got the car now is cause dads a panel beater and his helping me and teaching me the trade, so im not reaaly worried much bout the body and stuf for now, just wanted to know from now whats some good stuf to do to the engine! Yeah i want it to look respectible not hoony, and dad wants the same thanks heaps anyway Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Convert it to manual, put in a LSD or mini spool/weld it diff, diff gears if youve got money.. second hand extractors + bigger exhuast... run it on 98 and advance the timing a bit... run it on chasers with 40psi in them and wait until it rains... other then that wait until you can turbo it

Don't do anything to the N/A, just fix all the clips/plugs and do home maintenance stuff. I would start off with basics like oil changes / diff oil change / gearbox (also tighten bands to spec - using torque wrench), radiator flush, replace thermostat (if scummy) do ya hoses and check leads, plugs etc. Check timing, make sure its either 15deg. or if u wanna up it and use PULP fuel Just familiarize yourself with everything. Learn how to do error checks on the ECU (fix any codes) I'm not sure how handy you are, but a suspension bush kit might keep you busy for a while? If doing yourself I highly recommend buying a clamp/press kit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-Wheel-Auto-Truck-Car-Drive-Ball-Joint-Service-Kit-Adaptors-Brand-New-/141179224003?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item 20deefffc3 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-Wheel-Auto-Truck-Car-Drive-Ball-Joint-Service-Kit-Adaptors-Brand-New-/141179224003?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20deefffc3) That saved me a heap of time, I was trying crappy DIY tools i'd made up and using that with a battery 18V Impact Wrench Drill was so so so much easier.... best $100 ive spent and I've got it for life now. Clean up the inside / repair any switches / broken things Or collect parts for a turbo conversion later on.... I took 8 months to get all the goodies for a high-comp conversion... just got to wait until the parts pop up so basically, don't worry about power first.... make sure the car is as good and tight as it can be. Later on, worry about power when you can legally drive it and you will have faith that your car is up to scratch and wont break on you. Plus you will learn a lot and be more likely to do a turbo conversion yourself... (its really easy) I would actually say doing some of the suspension work myself was actually harder than the turbo setup. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Cheers man, yeah iv been doing that stuff on the side cuase its just sitting at dads shop, his a panel beater and is doing the work to it and twaching me the trade hes got people to do that stuff, im getting new diff, full service and all round check to make sure everything is running as it should be, i see where ur comming from and its true, but i wpjust wanted to know what i could do for future im just curiose for now, atm i am planing to port and maybe pollish heads, 2.5 zaust with decent mufflers and a high flow cat, 3.80 diff gears (lsd) maybe a manual conversion but i heard it will loose money when i go to sell, i wanna do a stock looking exhaust maifold with bigger outlets so i can maybe put a cam in it cause i cant do extractors cause of p's, maybe a chip if i can, i allready go my rims there cv8z monaros, and just goto get sprayed silver ahah, if u know of anything else that i can do it would be reaaly helpful Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah im gonna get a k&n panel but opening the airbox is abut riskey for me cause people will argue that its not stock and crap like that, i was contemplating doing a hole on the bottom of airbox and piping just behind the bumber to grt more air in but that reaaly riskey cause ther can be water issues and its too easy to see soo im not sure, thanks heaps for ur help though dude Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah heaps of people been saying just keep stock and wait for turbo, but im going to do a engine and drivetrain swap im the future if not rebuild another vl with a full turbo set up, i only asked to see of anything affective but cheap that i could do to get that edge over other na vl's, even though i cant go very far with a na, i have time and well pretty much connections cause of dads trade, but to be honest im not 100% sure on anything yet, thanks for the advice though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
