Alright, i have a vlt turbo thats been an endless problem, I've looked through all the threads and tried everything and still nothing
At first it is coughing and braking down under boost so i gapped the plugs and it ran fine. Then the fuel pump ****ed out and i replaced it with a 044 and it started to break down under boost again, i changed the fuel filter and it ran good for a little while but its now back to breaking down under boost. So i've tinkered with everything, re-run the spark plg leads, already has a new coil, cap and rotor button so thats all sweet and i've mucked around with the CAS and thats all sweet. Theres no vac lines off or anything i dunno what the problem is?
I've tried it on 10,8 and 5 psi and still the same. All thats done to the motor is a gktech front mount and new intake pipe, afm moved into the cold side, catch can, full 3" highflowed exhaust and a boost tap usually on 10 psi.
When it breaks down under boost, its like its missing then all of a sudden sometimes it'll completely cut boost.
hellllppp! Carton to the first person to sort it out!

Buy brand new spark plugs and chuck them in, tried AFM?

Spark plugs are new and look to be burning fine. I chucked another afm on it about a month ago which its running now, it is second hand though.
And i've also noticed, when on boost and getting off the accelerator my turbo used to flutter ( no bov ) but now it doesnt, instead of it fluttering it just sounds like one solid gust of air...if you know what i Mean.

Sounds like you have a cooler pipe leak or loose matbe

Does the 044 have the right voltage going to it im sure you have to upgrade wiring to 044 from stock pump

Is the cooler pipe touching any of the ignition stuff? Or close to it?

Pump sounds to be pumping fine. Cooler pipe is running straight over the dizzy but its seperated be hose i've put in between.

I've heard that when the engine twists torques upwards when getting on it, the dizzy can touch the piping causing the top leads to arc and misfire did you try gapping the plugs down to 0.8mm, is it definitely a spark miss and not a fuel miss mine was running crap found the problem only happened below half tank of fuel so removed the sender assembly and found a dead in tank pump as well as corroded fuel link hose that links the pump to the steal outlet tube ...

Found the problem kinda:
I didn't see it cause it was under heat sheilding, But It's not sorted. Took it for a drive and it ran better but still broke down after or around 4k rpm. This is weird. It misses and then cuts to nothing.
I read the codes showing off my ecu and it shows air flow system as throwing up a red flag so I'll replace the afm and see what happens.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

23-12-13, 09:58 GMT+10#11 I knew it was cooler pipe, I'd highly suggest changing Air flow meter now!
