It will only give you the strength to run more boost and timing so you can make more power thats the only reason to go forged stuff and head studs stop head from lifting under big boost

To tell you the truth I just want to do something with my block where it can easily handle 20 pound boost, what do ya reckon?

if your 18 psi now you will probably have to pull the whole thing down, fill the block with grout, forged everything, major headwork, arp everything, then you might be able to run 20psi... no guarentees

Theres people running 30+ on standard blocks pal, do some research. It's just a number, there's no specific boost pressure that if you hit, magically makes your pistons/rods explode, if you get some retard to tune it and its on 6 pound it could still blow up.

I reckon it's your car, you know what you want from it, nobody else. Forging the block just means your able to lean on the motor a lot more, hence can run more boost, and make more power.

Well said AVG45. My engine builder told me to think about grout filling the block at about 40psi. My mates purple Calais makes 463rwkw on 35psi and ran 9.75 @ 143mph, all with a standard 'block'. It's what's inside the block that counts mate, not the block itself

it would help if you posted your setup..eg turbo/camshaft/computer rbfrog answered your initial question, and he would know, he build them for a living.. bottom end don't increase flow /camshafts/cylinder heads/turbos/manifolds do boost is irrevalant, it changes from setup to setup.. you can make 220rwkw on 20psi with a hi-flow, or 320rwkw with a GtXX on 20psi 2 different things are happening in the combustion chamber (inside the motor) to change wear and stress levels..revs also come into account aswell for stress levels ....so whats your setup? cheers darren
