It's actually a mate of mines. Going to be one crazy car. He is from Sydney. Not gonna let to much info out on it though

Sending a half cut over there for them to dummy would add a fair bit to build cost I'd imagine. With the talent we have in Australia it couldn't be done here?

The whole car has been sent there now. Engine and turbos are mocked up in the actual car. Shipping was about 3k.

Looks like the old NSNPWR. Is it getting the 427tt daily driver package? Man that would be awesome in a VL!

That's pretty cheap then considering he'll most likely save a fortune on parts and labour over there with US pricing.

Yeah the first link shows the whole car at around 12:50
Probably cost around the same as doing it here, after factoring in pricing etc.
NRE has a great name for this kind of stuff, they put together big and reliable packages... But still, what's the follow up service going to be like? I'd imagine good considering it's a us company and not a useless aus company. But repairs/mainainence would have to be carried out in aus.
As interesting as that much power would be, NRE do more stuff, is it getting anything else done? I see there is no rear end presently. The charger for instance in that video had corvette suspension etc.

This is pretty exciting news for a VL fan though... Can't wait for updates.

06-12-12, 14:08 GMT+10#19 Craig Munro who owns tryhrd is getting an nre package to fit into a vl.
Ps. Nre Seems to be all YouTube hype. Many dissatisfied customers in the states.
The guy with the supra in the nre videos said their engine was junk and wouldnt hold together. When they tore it down, it didn't have arp main studs and only tiny 5/16 pushrods in a 2000+hp engine. Bent all the exhaust valves first time out.
Theres a good reason why there is no footage of an nre car running a serious number at the track. Apart from fbomb, with 1500hp and struggling to get into the 9s.
Not hating, just saying it as it is.

Funny you should say that was over in the states start of the year with 2 mates buying a big block chief motor. and were talking about nre while over there as wondering why you dont see much footage of nre cars at the track see plenty of street videos of the blowing the tires off at cruising speed must be a reason. one of the track that we visited while over there when we rocked up i thought i was abandoned and made heathcote look like western sydney but there were na carbie jobs cars rocking up with the whole family in at bbq and all laying down low 8second passes on a radial tire and going straighter down the track than a bullet and then cruising it out the gates home spun me out.
2000hp 20hp couldnt care less its what it does down the track that shows its true colours.
good to see a vl going a little different though
