Ive been a member of this forum for a while now, some of you might remember my car. It was bought in Brisbane off a forum member on here as a stock standard 86 5spd SL Turbo about 6yrs ago I did the normal thing and went a full 3" exhaust and one of the first GK tek no hole intercooler kits. While I had the front apart I fixed up the front nose cone paint and inner gaurds also resprayed the front plastics and fitted 18" rims. Then I took her in for a tune with standard ecu/injectors/turbo. I drove her around like this for a few weeks until A jd custom plenum and highflow t3/t4 came up for sale and was bolted up on the weekend then back for another tune. On 12psi Finally I installed a set of bosch 036 injectors, haltech e6k ecu and 044 pump and had it tuned at 18-19psi and made 356rwhp and have driven it like that for the last 5yrs every 2nd weekend. Its very responsive and haven't had any trouble with it other then toasting the standard clutch & a excedy hd clutch. Ive decided to strip the engine bay and tidy it all up with a new setup in the chase for more power and possibly go back to stock rims for a sleeper look. Ive been collecting parts the last few weeks and would like to have all the parts I need before I start stripping it down. Ive bought a gt3788r with braided oil and water lines and a extreme turbo topmount t4 manifold with 44mm gate with screamer. I also have a ported head with cam setup thats being cleaned and checked before I use it. At the point now at looking at the fuel setup. Ill need to upgrade from the 036s and standard fuel rail but unsure what to go for just yet. Looking at mrparts billet fuel rail kit to take 14mm injectors. Are many of you guys running them? I want to push the standard a8 bottom end and would be happy with anything between 400-450rwph on pump 98 and about 20 pound, but might want to get a few drums of e85 for next yr powercruise and push for 500rwhp? Suggestions on injectors/fuel setups are welcome Ill still be running the old school haltech e6k ecu will this limit what injectors I can run? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'd suggest spraying your rocker cover, would look so much neater!

Maybe original hammer tone red finish. Also its will have bigger breathers/fittings tapped in ---------- Post added 30-11-12 at 17:15 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by my30et [View Post] i suggest a cpc plenum , walbro intank 420lph intank pump id 1000 , n e85 I'll be keeping the jd plenum but will be polished. Also already have a walbro intank pump that feeds a 044 external pump, but with no surge tank I never run under half a tank which is a bit frustrating. Mrparts recommended the id1000 injectors for pump fuel. Apparently they will support 500rwkw but still have fine control at lower power levels Donno Im planning on buying his billet fuel rail kit new and hopping for a good set of second hand injectors to come up fingers crossed lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think ill be running between 20-25psi with a rich safe tune on pump, unsure what I will make. Did you buy the id1000 from mrparts?

Its still got a 30psi spring in it. ---------- Post added 01-12-12 at 21:56 ---------- Will a gk tech cooler be good enough for 400-450rwph??? Its got 2.5" piping from the hot side and goes to a 3" modified jd custom cold side pipe to xf throttle body. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'd be interested to see if the gk tech cooler core would make that sort of power, when ya hold em up to the light ya can hardly see anything through em.

i dont think thats an extreme manifold by looking at the lack of merge collector. id go rocky 1000cc & rail from sticks.

I donno mate thats what it was sold for on ebay. I couldnt pass it up for the price, and came off a car that made 580rwhp on 30psi so should do me. Is sticks a member on here? Anyone pushed a gk cooler?

I heard its standard 12 pound spring with a el ford valve spring and it held 28 pound and used a bleeder to hold a steady 30 pound?? If thats the case Ill just run the 12 pound spring and bleed off what I need ---------- Post added 02-12-12 at 08:33 ---------- Just found the sms from the seller apparently the manifold and gate came off PSI316 when it wouldnt sell and was stripped. Theres a build thread somewhere on the forums for the car. ---------- Post added 02-12-12 at 08:35 ---------- I can get a good price on a set of almost new indy blue 1600cc injectors are these 14mm o ring style injectors? and would they be too big for my setup and old school e6k ecu? Also heard the indy blues dont work well with e85? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yes Indy blues are 14mm 0 ring, and yes they are fine with e85

Very much a proven setup...I was under the impression that it's a 30psi spring in there though? I don't recall having a bleed valve to control boost. I may be wrong though Indy blues are fine for e85 it's what I run in the car now

Im going to pull the gate apart soon and we will see. Are indy blues still going to be good with pump fuel at idle/light loads and not a hassle to tune.

yeah should be fine mate..all depends on the tuner in the end...as long as they know what they are doing

The indy blue deals not a gowa soo been doing some more research into injectors. Im even more confused in what to get now lol. I think I want to stick with low impedance injectors but something around the 650-850cc hopefully cheap second hard or something Next yr ill upgrade the injectors when I switch to e85 Either way Im going with the billet 14mm o ring fuel rail from Mrparts. I was looking at these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Fuel-Injector-s-x-6-Ford-BA-BF-XR6-turbo-650cc-60lb-62lb-65lb-EV6-FPV-HSV-/120951920697?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item 1c294bd839 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Fuel-Injector-s-x-6-Ford-BA-BF-XR6-turbo-650cc-60lb-62lb-65lb-EV6-FPV-HSV-/120951920697?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c294bd839) There cheap but after reading the info there high impedance. My manual for the e6k says it can run either 8 low impedance or 12 high impedance. I might ring my tuner Monday at lunch and see what he thinks I should go for. ---------- Post added 03-12-12 at 10:32 ---------- Where is the best place to get valve stem seals?

Bit of a update, the heads been stripped, crack tested, decked, new valve seats/guides and will drop in the new steam seals when I figure out what vrs kit to buy. He also said the heads had a nice porting job done at one stage and a aftermarket cam. Unsure of the specs.
