i need to vent my anger. i flew down south thursday to pick up my new vl turbo. got off the plane and old mate i brought the car off picked me up from the airport. i went over the car, took it for a drive and was happy (car also came with a road worthy). i started driving home, and after a while the car started running rough. i pulled over and stopped the car, popped the bonnet and couldnt figure out what was wrong, went to start it and wouldnt start. after about half an hour the car started, i started driving to find a mechanic and broke down again. i called racq and they came and said that the dizzy wasnt getting spark, he got it started and said i should make it to the next town to see a mechanic. drove ten mins and broke down again, called racq and got it towed to the next town. took the car to the auto electrician, they couldnt find out what was wrong with it so i had to leave it with them to look at on monday and i had to catch a plane home. im so piss*d off, the car cost me 7500 to buy but by the time i get it fixed and home its going to be more like a 10000 car. is there anything i can do to get some money back from the guy i brought it off? racq cost me $220, tow truck cost me $120, auto electricans cost me $480 so far, and my plane ticket cost me $700. i still have to pay for whatever they do to it on monday, fly back to pik the car up. i didnt even own the car for 24 hours and its going to cost me just as much as the car

It's one of those things with buying a second hand car man - it just hurts when it happens. It came with a roady and you test drove it and it was fine. You can't really put it back on the previous owner as he could just say it's something you did on the way home. With buying a second hand car from a private sale there's no warranty or guarantee's

Aftermarket ECU's arent a roadworthy item, thats how

Well then why can't a car be engineered with them?

Emissions... it's seperate to roadworthiness. It also depends on what car you're trying to engineer with an aftermarket ECU... some cars you can.

Unlucky man, all you can do is ring the guy and if his a good bloke, he might help you out. other than that no luck.
