Hey all,
Just thought I’d share with you all my 1988 VL SL Manual.
I bought it from a young bloke a year ago and have slowly been changing everything to bring back a more stock look but still with a little bit of personalisation.
Make / Model: 1988 VL SL
Colour: Alpine White over MX Grey
Engine Type: RB30 N/A
Engine Mods: LPG
Power: A million in the wet
Exhaust: Extractors + 2.5” system
Gearbox: MF5
Diff: Drums soon to be disc
Brakes: Standard N/A, turbo brakes on soon.
Suspension: Lovell springs on stock shocks
Wheels/Tyres: 16” VE Interceptors on Kenda tyres
Interior: Calais Series 2
Other Mods:
Tacho dash, Venetians, Tinted Windows, Central Locking, New headlights, A/F Gauge
Future Mods:
New suspension setup – Most likely Superlows over KYB
3” Chrome Dump Tip
LSD
MX7
Turbo conversion
Slimline Plates
When I first got it.
First mod: Rims.
Then resprayed rims. (In Kinglake)
Added a wall for the sub.
After being hit in the rear quarter panel we decided to use the money to respray the bumpers.
Here it is on the Mothers Day cruise. This is currently how it sits.
Any feedback on what I still need to do would be very much appreciated.
Still got 3 months to go on L's and PUMPED.
Cheers,
Borci88.

Gave the car a clay bar and polish on the weekend, came out great.
Boot rust repairs have all been done and Gas is now in.

Gas now needs a tune up and Ezy-Gas has gone bust, so much for its first free service.
New Calais interior got a steam clean and went in last week.
Anddd at the 2010 C4C:
Next up is making the exhaust a little bit louder and a chrome tip, turbo brakes and diff waiting to go on, and a turbo will hopefully be on end of year / start of next year.

Is it running duel fuel or straight gas? Love the clean exterior look. Don't go painting your bumpers and molds asteroid either like alot of people.
Looks good man
Straight gas but the injectors are still connected up, haven't had the time to remove them, I'll be keeping the bumpers MX Grey but the clear coat is starting to peel so I'll have to respray em soon. Cheers aaron

very nice car dude, love the white and grey SL's Would be a top cruiser with the calais trim and now booosted. Depending on what your taste is..if i was you my next shopping item would be a lowering kit...its and its riding a bit high for my liking. Also, got any pics from when you put the short shifter kit in?

Got hit on Wednesday, hasn't been written off officially but yeah its a write off, engine bay is about 3 inches less in width and the roof has a crease in it, who says I dont have insurance? Also how did you hear about it?

Yeah I came out alright luckily, really happy I didn't have my gf in the passenger seat. It's only valued at $2,200 but I'll try and squeeze as much as I can out of it..
I think my next car will have better brakes..
