just wondering if anyone here uses there vl to get to work and back, and avoids carting tools, im just worried when i start they will make me get a ute and ill have to sell my vl that i have spent alot of cash on :S cos a vl isnt exactly ur average work hack seen on site !
i used to use mine to get to work, would rarely have to put tools init, just drums of cable which lowers the back heaps and ill start using it again soon

hey dude your bro looking 4 a job?
do what i did and buy a turbo diesel rodeo relible cheap to run and cheap to buy 4-7 grand should see a decent one i got to massive tool boxes on mine sags in the arse cause of the weight but still pulls hard and after 350 thousand did my first clutch and keep the VL for fun cause they get damaged using as a work car in no time
why would you have to sell your VL?
I'm a tiler, I have my VL, and 2 years into my apprenticeship, I got a loan for a BA ute, which has served me well.
my bf was taking my calais to work everyday, he's a painter. just put tools in the boot.
and my dad had a vz maloo for a work ute, carried fridges, washing machines, etc in it, still kept it immaculate

sparky you should get away with it shouldn't you? just stop putting money into the vl apart from maintenence and start saving / loan for a work car if it bothers you gthat much. take the vl off of the road and avoid the rego / insurance.
that or just sell it.
Im a sparky too, i work construction though not domestic.
All my tools are left on site most of the time so all it needs to carry is me and my lunch.
If your a domestic sparky who has to go job to job, get some roof racks, put the 6 footer on the roof, cable drums in the boot with the roller cases. tool bags in the back seat with drill and paperwork/folders on passenger seat
