just wondering, as the vl brakes suck period, i tend to use nuetral when pulling up at lights since it stops a bit easier, is this bad for the gearbox? i heard your not supposed to, is this correct? ta

No it's not bad, although I can't see how it would make the brakes work better?

I just assumed he was talking about manual, also user name like clutch suggests he's a manual sort of a guy If it's auto just leave it in drive and stop playing games Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well, only realy if i need to stop quick do i do it, and it only realy benafits at the last few seconds of stopping, because if its in drive, the transmission is still slightly accelorating, where as if its in nuetral, there no extra acceloration, so it stops a bit easier, normaly i wouldnt care, but my brakes are realy bad and they wobble if i push them hard enough, which alot of the time is nessisary. its an auto box by the way lol my name is clutch because ive always had a manual, and just made it my username for everything, but unfortunatly, the vl i got recently isnt a manual Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I doubt it would do damage to your trans over that short distance, however you should not have to put you car into neutral at all. If your brakes are that bad, look at getting your disks machined or go buy new ones http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Commodore-BRA...item35a644f637 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Commodore-BRAKE-DISCS-for-VC-VH-VK-VL-VN-VP-VR-VS-rear_W0QQitemZ230422804023QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item35a644f637) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/COMMODORE-VL-...item2a05424ea1 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/COMMODORE-VL-VN-VR-VS-VP-DISC-BRAKE-PADS-FRONT-SET_W0QQitemZ180476858017QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2a05424ea1) Try that or your local repco/autobarn etc etc That isnt much to pay to have decent stopping power. Problem solved

Problem solved the ebay link for discs was for the rear of the car, im assuming u mean for the front?, im thinking of getting new discs and softer pads, because it realy is bad... reckon it could be anything else? how do you know when you need rear drum pads?

oh yea, i have 2 spare parachutes in my backseat that i turf out the window when im going to fast, cos sometimes the speed im doing is just to quick, sometimes i chuck it in reverse and wheel spin the opposite way so i slow down a bit quicker to. this one time, i was doing around 2000kmph give or take, i went to stop at a set of lights and lucky i had a set of jets pointing forwards installed earlier that day to turn on cos i might of had to put the car in nuetral so i could slow down in time, phew
