Hi guys and girls. Im fairly new here, just been posting to sell and buy sh!t, but now i want to get to know other cars and people. I used to own a 1987 Silver Calais, she was a N/A but had been rebuilt, was a 5 Speed Manual and had a really nice Silver with Blue Pearl Paint Job. I bought it when i was on my l's and i then had my p's for about 2 months before i wrote it off as i was a d!ckhead. This is what happened. 7k worth of damage. After much thought about what other car to get, not sure if a vl was the best for me as i was just on my p's, i decided to buy another. I made sure it was the same year, and color exterior and interior. I purchased her from someone on here for $2500. Looking back, i could have just bought a rolling shell but at the time i didnt know what i was going to do to her. This is what she looked like. I then had $2500 to spend on getting her up to scratch. She had a blown head and the power in it was pretty poor compared to my old one. So i decided to take it down to a mate in Thomastown as i needed a RWC and some work done to her. We decided to completely strip the mechanical side of her and pull all of the engine, exhaust, transmission, diff, suspension, breaks, powersteering and so on off my old one as we knew that it was all in good condition and performed well. She spent 2 Weeks at the shop and had all the mechanical side done to her. I then got her back and decided to sell the rolling shell, but before that i swapped over all the good interior to the new one from my old one. Ive had her for about a month now, Registered in my name. Im pretty happy with the work done to her. She runs very well. She's pretty much stock, except for the extractors, 3inch exhaust from extractors and the tip, the manual transmission, pod filter intake setup and stereo. This is her current stage. I still have a little to do to her, but am pretty limited until im off my p's. I've just reissued my cousins old plates for her. VLHRT, they will be on the car as soon as i get them. I eventually want to rebuild her to run low 9's high 8's. Let me know what you think of her. Thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

cheers mate, i wanna take it on a cruise soon but too worried that it wont fit in as the paint has a couple blemishes here and there and its n/a and most other cars have been built in some way or another, where as this isnt. what do u think? and the 3" exhaust is not too bad on it. sounds really nice, my other calais got defected with the same exhaust, came off a freeway saw a cop and was at 80 in the off ramp, threw it in 3rd and he sed i could here you from about 2 kms down the road.

i like it better than the old one man, lower it more and put stockys on, 3.9's, spool and it will be sick.

stuff it man take it to a crruise! for starters it will be better than half of the thrashed POSs there. if you are just going on a cruise with some vl boys (or girls) you will find there are quite a few n/a guys running. for the most part they won't mind they will appreciate your car for a clean example even if its not turbo. the only bad thing when cruising is trying to keep up in an n/a! i most usually have the slowest car cruising anyway.

Lol I'm not putting stockies on, they look ****. And it's pretty low as it is. Yea i dnno I think diff is already 3.9 as it takes off pretty well but dnt know for sure. Yea I'm thinking of going on c4c next weekend. And she should keep up. She goes pretty hard, quicker than a vp vt so on
