lol NATH KORN did you even do even do the math...... a vl 5.0 has less power than a vn v6 and is the same weight, so yes its fine they came out factory with like 96rwkw...... if your on the old laws your fine. By the way, its not a 308! vl was a 304 carbie. hsv models were a 304 injected.

The fact that its a 5 litre is what puts it over the limit. Power to weight its fine but it needs to pass both power to weight and capacity to weight

i carried around the print out off the vicroads website. all you need to do is calcualte the capacity to the weight on the side of the road and they let you off...because its LEGAL.

my old girls owns a 5.0 vl, and im on my p's, and i still drive it, and its modded. headers, zort, manifold... never had any trouble at all, if its stock they do pass, just, at as said be4 the 1450kg and 4.9L... but up to you, drive it, its legal, but keep some papers, in your glove box, to prove it does pass.

On both those weights it fails on capicty to weight. however you would be unlucky to get busted for it and as a driver of a 5.0 carby vl myself I can vouch for these cars not being a high powered car. It just goes to show how bad the guidelines are that cars that are easily quicker are ok to drive and this one isn't
