The VL Sandown wagon was a one-off, There were a handful of VK Group 3 wagons made, I know of 2 HDT VL wagons personally so i believe theres more than 3

I have a street commodores article from wayy back (at least 3 years ago) featuring what they called a VL "signature series" wagon, it looked very similar to the one mazza pictured above, it had brockys signature and "signature series" on the front fender where the calais and "le by hdt" badges would usually go, and was sporting Series 2 aero wheels and scheel trim.
i'll have a look around tomorrow and if i can find the mag i'll scan it for ya.
[Edit] Found the article, it's the one mazza pictured. it'a called a "HDT VL Group 3 signature series", there were 39 made, 38 of them are sedans, 36 are white, one red and one blue. The red wagon is the only wagon that was ever built. it came with full scheel trim and a momo wheel, all electrics, hdt enhanced v8. . . side skirts and rear bar very similar to the LE, a completely new one piece front bar similar to the Group A and series 1 16" aero wheels.
i'll try and find a scanner and post it up but it's the march 03 issue that features the vl turbo "RUJELS" and has "wild42" on the cover...
lol @ my insomnia being put to good use...

One of them VL wagons is in NZ. It was bought from WA and transported back. The guy who owns it is a regular on the Brock Commodores website.
I was at dinner last night with two HDT VL Wagon owners which included the wagon pictured above which is the Group 3 Signature Series wagon. (Can even tell you where that pic was taken as i was there)
There were many "Calais S/W by HDT" wagons built along with Sport Wagons, and the odd version like the Group 3 and Sandown one off's which are both red.
That small bit of info from the mag isn't all that accurate either.

i spoke to my dad and he said "if you saw it from the front straight away you would think its a VL SS group a but then u see the side and its a wagon
the dealer back then said to him that there were only 3 made
Looking like a Group A from the front would eliminate it being the Sandown or Group 3 wagon.
Most dealers wouldn't have a clue about numbers of anything built.
Came across one recently who told me that he owned the first Brock wagon so i asked if it was a VH and he said "no, it was a VK". I asked him if he knew a certain guy and he did so i mentioned that he had the first one and showed him photos of another VH built. Suggested to him that maybe he had either the first VK or the first wagon into NSW instead.
Also on the subject of VL Group 3's i had another dealer many years ago tell me that he had just been arguing with a customer about the Group 3's basis being a Calais versus the customer saying it was a Berlina. I asked him to follow me around his yard and i'd show him a few things. He had three other VL's being an SL, Berlina and Calais. Showed him the codes on the compliance plates and also the taillights on all three models then went back to the Group 3 where he discovered that it was a Berlina afterall.
