Whats with calder changing their time slips to kmh?? When i heard they changed their time boards to kmh i didnt think the time slips would change also, until i saw my mates time slips and no sign of the much needed MPH. Whats going on here???????
willowbank tryed it but said somthing like "all the main records and milestones have been done in MPH and it will be silly to change now"
but having KMH on a lower board would be nice in aust...
some one told me they swapped it bc 80 or even 100mph looks slow where as in k's it looks higher :\ they could be wrong, i hope they are bc thats a pretty GAY reason!
drag racing has been meausred in mph since the beginning. why change it now? its a 1/4 mile drag race, no one calls it the 402m drag race. If i remember correctly at wsid they show both mph and kmh.
They can do whatever they like on the time board but at least keep it mph on the timeslip or just print both!!!!!!
i think its time to modern the **** up. who cares for inches, feet, miles now days. learn to use KM now and its easy enough for current record to be converted to KMH
lol@online conversion
it is a bit of a head****
like tryna weigh **** in grams pounds and ounces, does my head in!!
im sure in a year or so we'll all be used to how fast stuff is in kph....
I agree that its ridiculous to change it to klm's. Fair enough if they keep both, and I'm sure that it would be good for the new spectaters to the sport, which would be what they are thinking of more than anything, but the new people are the minority, the majority are the people who have been into racing for years, if not decades, and compare everything worldwide in MPH. I for one can't stand the thought and concept of klm's, despite using metric for everything else I do. Just doesn't seem..... Right.

THANK YOU!
Im not saying we need to start using imperial measurements just keep the MPH in drag racing!
hm just realised theyre not showing the MPH at all lol
does seem a bit silly...
if they were thinking of changing they could at least show both and phase it out...but still
get a petition goin at the track man..
some bird did that up at willowbank when they changed it to kph... we all signed it out there one night.. and must have done something cause i havent seen in in kph since then LOL :P
do it !
bunch of friggin girls. man as much as we begginers may be the minorty, in the futre we will be the major, so i say dont be scared and get used to it. i for one dont know much about drag racing, but seeing as i drive everyday and my traffic signs are in KMH when i race i would like to know my speed, not what the yanks would call it..
yes but how many tracks do you see measure 1/4mile times in KMS only?!?! I dont know of any! MPH is the industry standard.. and all other tracks arent gonna follow just coz calder did it..
