A researcher from the Queensland University of Technology is seeking hoons to help her make changes to the state's anti-hooning legislation.
Nerida Leal says the survey, conducted for QUT's Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety, will look at the impact of hooning on road safety and provide recommendations to police.
She says there have been no studies in Australia about hooning or why people decide to hoon.
"I'm going to have a particular look at the legislation so [will ask] whether they think it's been effective, [and] whether they've come into contact with a police officer as part of an anti-hooning operation.

Cynics, check out the links below. It's legit so get some of your irresponsible mates from other forums and clubs to give the girl a hand because we all know calaisturbo.com.au does not condone this sort of behaviour an no-one from here would partake on public streets.

I wish people would see it's not about the 'showing off' and 'trying to kill ourselves by driving dangerous'. It's because some people generally love the power of their pride and joy. It's only natural for men to be overwhelmed by something that has force, rage & speed. As do few females. Oh well. It'll always be considered an act of rebellion and stupidity. My two cents.
Just like to quickly say I don't do outstanding speeds, or show off by wreckless driving where public safety is an issue.

Go along with what you say and well put, I'd add that the feeling of control
has an addictive factor - after all we still have John Howard
The adrenalin that comes from control under thrilling circumstances such
as wheel spin or drift etc has some addictive aspects and if you were to see
us as chemical feedback loops we are in a way extending our influence
through those electro-mechanic control systems around us - its a natural
consequence of neural nets exploring and adding to the gestalt and seems to
me to be a natural extension to the survival instinct for us as chemical
automatons

Thanks mate, yeah I do believe in my words. Just I wanted to add that I don't act stupid were public safety is an issue.
