interesting , i thought for sure he was full of sh!t at first, but obviously it works, itd be interesting to see it up close, and to see how long it lasts...cant hurt for 50$ i guess if your paints farked
Ive seen a guy that did this once, almost the same way but with just enamal house paint, worked the same but always required a re-polish every month
Cost him nothing but time cause it was just white house full gloss enamal, pity it went caulky so ofter

not sayin it cant be done i can drink the paint and p i ss it on but id be rubbing till xmas 2009 to get it flat shiney and nice
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
i tracked down the exact paint they used here in australia, got a couple of tins of "Sunburst Yellow" and am painting a test piece with it now. there's definately an art to it, i have started using a BRUSH instead of a roller now as it bubbles less. prep it well between lots of thin coats and it turns out quite nice. when it's got 6-8 coats on i'll buff it to hell and back and see if i can get uniform colour and shine out of it.
either way, i've got leftover paint so i'll be doing my daily when i have a week spare.
doing a job like this sounds interesting, he said he did not use primer because of the elements in the paint, i'd say its deff a better idea to use a self based primer.
but all worth a shot hey.... let me know if anyone is going to give it a go. and keep us updated with pics
I painted my kb26 rodeo with a roller & white enamel paint. It turned out pretty good, I started to use a soft roller & it was hard to get it smooth.. upgraded to a smaller & harder one & layed it on and it didnt fade or allow any rust to come through int he whole time I had it. His guide says to thin it alot more which I didnt probably do enough. Its pretty glossy stuff too.
And if anyone decides to spray there car with enamel using a gun just watch the overspray.. mask everything up around the car also because it is really thick in the air and sticks like crazy.
