Can someone please help me out with my electric antenna problem. I plug the power into it and it drives all the way up and wants to keep driving... I disconnect the power and switch the powers wires and it drives down and wants to keep going down..... I suspected it might be the control module so I swapped it with my other one and I still have the problem. The satellite switch on the left of the dash that is meant to be able to drive it up or down does nothing really....... Im about to set the thing on fire can someone please tell me what the problem is.... I realise this is in the wrong section but I really need a quick answer... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

this is a bit of a guess but it could be a short in the circuit... have you checked all the fuses and wiring ?

well it could be something else along the way causing it to short out... like for example, if you disconnect one of your indicators, the rest of them blink twice as fast cause the circuit hasnt been completed, and they dont know wtf to do... my advice would be ring up an auto elec and see what they have to say, most likely it'll be some real simple problem...

have u changed the relay mate? i have the same problem with mine, but sometimes it doesnt go down and other times it does, but u can hear the motor making a weird noise once it hits the top and bottom, so i got the $hits with it and went to auto one and bought a new antenna for 110 bux so i cant complain

sounds like the contact switch in the antenna is dead...When you extend an antenna there is a simple switch of sorts that kills motor and stops the antenna power.

yea i think that is where it is, i had a issue with mine once and the electrican said it was the relay, so i changed it and it worked fine, but i think u might need to get a new antenna and save urself the headaches champ

I have a thing with my antenna, when I start the car it goes all the way up automatically, then 99.9953% of the time, it comes back down and wants to stay down, so even if you force it back up by the button, as soon as you let go it comes back down. Dunno why its doing this, sorry to come away from your problem calais25t.

Okay, I changed the aerial over and its fixed 50% of my problem lol. When I turn my radio on now you can hear the relay click but the aerial dosent move... I push the up button and it goes up or I push the down button and it still goes up lol. So I can put it up manually with both the up and down button..... When I turn the radio off it comes down which is good so Im half way to having the problem fixed.. Any ideas from here please...

So if your car is on and you switch the head unit off can you put the aerial down by pushing the button? If so thats the same thing mine does. I had to put my own rocker switch in to control the aerial going up or down. But when the car is on and the head unit is on, even if i press the switch down it still goes up. lol Just leave it the way it is, or u'll end up losing the plot. Besides anything they play on the radio is crap anyway.

I turn the unit off or switch to cd and the aerial goes fully down, If u try to put it up on cd or anything other than radio it just goes straight down by itself when u release the up button.

must not be connected to your head unit you need the pulse from the headunit to tell it to rise when the head unit is on radio. just re read what you said it must be if it goes down, ignore what i said lol.

So the only thing wrong is when you switch to radio it won't go up by itself? Cos it shouldn't be up when it's switched off or when your playing a cd. Sounds like something to do with the power ant connection on the back of the head unit. This is the signal that the aerial motor needs to see, to let it to go all the way up or come all the way down. I would say that you have got the power ant connection hooked in somewhere it's not suppost to be. My problem was the same as yours but i did it on purpose because i didn't want the aerial up when i put a cd on, which was difficult because i have amps that also need the power ant connection off the back of my head unit. Anyway long story short, if i want to listen to the radio i have to hold my rocker switch up or down (they both do the same thing when radio is on, which is to send the power aerial up) and i have to switch my head unit totally off to put it back down again before listening to cd's. I dunno man, just by an mp3 head unit. You'll forget you have a radio function on your head unit.
