mx7 resverse and neutral switches are on the drives side i think about 5cm apart.
n/a i haven't realy seen one but i think they have the switches on the other side not 100 % sure but if you count the splines it will be 25.
size of the actual input shaft in the gearbox is bigger on mx7 (turbo).
you cant really tell the difference in rb20 and na without opening the box. but believe there is a stamp on them never seen it on mine though.
mx7.
its huge, and the neutral and reverse switch are right next to each other on the same side.
****ty pics but you get the idea
mf5 is half the size, neutral and reverse switches are at opposite ends.
as for the rb20 box, no idea.
it'll be a rb20 box man if its got that RP71c on it, i can get a pic of my spare box if you want its out of a r32 rb25de (same as a rb20det box i believe) vl na boxes have less ribbings than the skyline ones
heres a pic of my boxs http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/gearboxs.jpg (http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b33/smkdout/gearboxs.jpg)
check this... that is usually what a vl na box looks like, he belives its a gtst box... who knws..

Might be a bit late but I found another difference to distinguish between MX7 and MF5.
The plate around the shifter on an MF5 has 6 bolts. One of these has a 17mm head. Not sure how many bolts on the MX7's but the one with the 17mm head doesnt exist.

Dont quote me on this, but Im pretty sure the 25 box is simply the 26 box minus the transfer case.
