i noticed alot of u guys have the ass of your vls sitting on the rims of 17s, whas spring are u using, just buying superlows an compressing, or does king springs or lovells make a spring to sit em low, my mate bought lovells super lows an had them compressed 2 inch on his vk to sit it down.. this is what i was going to do
iv got standard pedders springs in mine, got the fronts reset around 4" and the rears reset a little over 6".
heres how mine sits atm at the rear.

thats awsome but i have heard having them heated up and recommpressed is nearly as bad as chopping them?
I would think the only way to get a half safe ride height like that would be get a set of decent linear springs and cut them down as they wouldnt suffer as much ride wise as non linear springs?
Do u guys have KMAC in melb.
If you do they custom make any height spring to suit vl.
When i rung i told them i wanted 2 1/2 inch lower on the front from standard, and 3 inch lower on the back from standard.
cost me $300 bucks all 4 ,inc post

Ok nanna......
reseting is not as bad as chopping, u stil retain some spring rate, when u chop u take off the some of the compression so it becomes a harder ride an your springs dont seat properly, ive had some in my vs, was in total aroung 5 1/2 inches lower all round an the ride was fine then i had choppies in my vn an it was shocking now i got choppies in the rear on my vl an its fuct, i think the front are ultra lows cos it sits over the tyre at the fron on 17s, but i just put 7 inch stockies on the back with 225s an 6 inch on the front with 205s an it doesnt look like it sits up at the ack nemore
just get a custom set made up from a suspension joint. u dont necessarily have to go and buy pedders or some other crappy brand. the other advantage of getting them custom made is that u can specify what spring rate u want at the front and back. for example say 280 pound on the front and 180 on the back (this is just an example). however the front rate should (in most cases) be higher then the back otherwise u will have trouble getting tracktion.

Was that all?? MAN, that's cheap man. Are they in Sydney or is there 1 in the gong?? May have to givem a call. Cheers
i used heavy duty front springs out of the front of a hq 1 tonner in the back of mine an it stiffined it up and chopped them to suit the ride height i wanted. they fit in the lower control arm fine
How many times have you guys gotta be told,
DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS.
It's dangerous and illegal. If you crash, your insurance company will bend you over and won't stop untill your broke.
Cop bait being that low in the arse, and they look like the peak of an italians kappa cap tickling gods feet with the arse that low and the nose up. Preparing for take off captain. They look way tougher with the nose lower cut springs id the worst thing you can do to suspension, or am i wrong? Should group A cars cut their springs to look cool?
This is mine with King ultras, i also don't have the top rubber insulators (makes it an extra ~1-2cm lower)

A friend of mine's car had chopped springs, while driving along at highway speeds on a bumpy road, one chopped spring fell out. He hit a tree and died. Chopped springs are no good fellas........
