Hay, I HATE to see antannas on VLs in the front 1/4. So befor i get my respray i shaved it. I also shaved the lines between the boot lid and back window on each side, AND my left door lock. I think it just makes them look alot cleaner. My repspray is soon and i just dont want to miss anything, Do you know of anything you i should also shave? and i dont want to know if you dont like shaving thinking "its only for rice boys.." Take it some were else. thank you.

Yeah id love to get my antenna shaved, I got my door locks cut out before the respray. Looks sweet except you most likely dont have central locking so you dont be able to do it.

you should get keyless entry and take off both locks, and the antenna, thats all you can really do without changign the car to much, anything more would be overkill i reckon. You want it to look clean but you still want it to look like a VL.

Are you mounting the ariel somewhere else on the car, or what are you doing as a replacement? I remember my brothers old RX-5 had the ariel running in the windscreen, 2 wires ran up through the middle, turned their seperate ways at the top of the windscreen, did a u-turn at the end and met up in the middle. Was sweet as, never had a problem with reception either.

As some one said you want too clean it up but make it look like a VL still.. Thank you for all your imput. I still have a bit to go befor the spray so anymore things would be nice. Yeah to shave the locks off, take the locks out, then get a piece of copper pipe just bigger than the hole and with a hammer give it a bash to sink the hole into the door slightly, then weld a plate behind it and shorten the lock rods as much as possible. Then you bog up the area and spray, that way it will all fill in nice and smoothly. Just make sure you have thought about what youre gonna do if your battery dies and the central locking stuffs up on you. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Im not sure about aussie laws, but here in NZ, we must have a means of mechanically opening the door. I have the front doors hooked up to the wing mirrors Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thats a good point, incase of emergency the door probably must be able to be opened...
