As much as i could i made it a driveable vehicle....
its was metallic blue like the ford xr6 blueprint...
you may have seen a giant driving it but oh well...
THEY STOLE MY ****ING CAR TO TAKE THE ****ING INTERCOOLER WHICH COST ME $450 AND BURNT THE ****ER TO A CRISP IN A WAREHOUSE COMPLEX IN KINGSGROVE ****ITY **** **** ****
police came at arround 4.30am to give me the bad news, they told me i should go have a look at it and see if i can get anything off it....
i drove down to the street and pulled in the carpark..
why do they burn it out for?
i dont understand the purpose of putting it on fire....
all i hope is that they robbed somewhere and theres footage of them so they can be ****ed up the ass when the police identify them....
Killswitch was well hidden in the boot which turned off the fuel pump...
Clublock on
car gone
man this is why you must have an alarm especially in a vl. ive got an alarm/imobiliser with pager a batery isolater switch and fuel kill switch and i still wont leave it in any carpark. sorry to hear for your loss man ass holes
sorry man i feel for ya. i hope the ****ers get cuaght and if ya need any help with sorting the guys out let us know and ill bring the newcastle calais turbo connection down to **** these morons up.
wonder how they like being set on fire????????
sorry to hear about the loss.
To answer your question the reason for burning the car is to get rid of any fingerprints or evidence. Considering the car would be full of the thieves finger prints and also maybe some evidence they may have left behind it is safer for them to just burn the car to leave nothing behind.
i would suspect that the intercooler was taken as a "bonus" and that the car wuld have been taken for a nice long thrashing and possibly even was f*kt before it was set alight because the thieves wuld not really care about the car in my opinion. Never the less not an excuse for wat they did.
Who have you told about your security measures?, never tell people what security you have and trust NO ONE.
That is very depressing to here they burnt your pride and joy, It's a dogs act to have a car knocked off. But when they torch it that's the lowest of low dogs.
Hopefully you maybe able to track the dogs down and take your own action .

Even if they do find fingerprints its pretty much useless. When my VL got stolen they found fingerprints but didn't match with anything on their computer list, so it didnt mean anything. They tagged the inside which i can only presume would have been photographed and put on record if they match the tag to a person later on down the track. Hell I even found a phone number left in the car by the thieves, not to mention the multi-tool (which the copper kept). I had solex locks on, but smashing a window gets past those real easy.
Sorry to hear about your loss mate, unfortunately its a part of owning a VL. The ignition barrel is the main culprit.
im extremely tall - thus giant and people recognising me as im not hard to find
nobody knew about the kill switch...
and i always sat in the car for about 3 mins after turning it off to make sure nobody was watching so when i open the boot and hit the switch...
just the intercooler was taken... and maybe the back seats? since theres no frame of them left in the car....
its was on fire for quite a while as it was left in a industrial area complex near kingsgrove which is a circle.. so only 1 way in and out...
i have now got some information from 2 people who suspect the same person as he lives locally...
they also stole my neighbours car ramps which i thought was really tight...
and if they are dumb enough to put the cooler on the car i think they will put it on, i have some nice photos of it so maybe the police can identify the scratches and bent fins and use it against them...
i am also glad it wasnt a finished car and hadnt put all my money into it...
it was my project... just a shame they torched it as there was not a dent on the body
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
and the "guy who worked for the council" who came and took it from the area i think has taken it all and is going to keep the engine...
lucky i got his number plate incase he doesnt ring me...
i might be able to salvage the head, gearbox and the turbo.. turbo seemed fine...
coil packs were nice a crispy melted but the spark plugs looked fine, so hopefully the cams and whole head are all good as i could use/sell them...
do engines and gearboxes die after being near/on fire? maybe they are warped?
