As the topic says - I'm just glad that I leave my car at home to go to work. At least 3 cars got pulled up into my work 2nite, and as I was walking across to the bus I saw a heap of action going on down in the Maccas car park. Had to go to the newsagent anyway, so I was walking through, and it was a huge police blitz. Every entry/exit blocked off - they were pulling up anyone who looked like they had something shiny on their car for the sole purpose of defecting - sending people to Pineapple st. Apparantly the 'Trackside' 180 was done badly. All in all, I wasn't terribly impressed. If I had been driving home and pulled over for nothing else but wasting my time, there would be words with the Minister and local member. I believe the laws allowing this kind of operation to be malicious, targeted and discriminatory against the car-loving community and the youth of the community. I didn't see any VL's there, so I hope all of us here managed to avoid any kind of trouble. Cheers, Steve.

Yeah my little brother called me at work to inform me of the blitz stevo, thank god i finished at 1030 rather than 9, as i usually jet past there. I would have been absolutely f ucked on if i went there. haha maybe its a good thing that all out cars are off the road in this instance lol Scoota

actually nsw plates weigh less , and are physically smaller , therefore less wind resistance - so in actual fact , they should make the car somewhat faster than if it adorned qld plates

I went to Aspley in the White Calais last night.... idled lumpily past 2 entrances with lots of coppa's looking eagerly at me - went past, around the corner and pulled in the Maccas entrance (one way one on the far side) and parked it behind/under the drivethrough bridge. Saw lots of people being pulled over off the street - anyone attempting to leave got thier car inspected - in the boots, under the bonnets. Plenty of angry people having to wait 10 minutes to get out of the carpark after picking up a pizza. Some people even got done twice! pulled off the street at one end, went to exit and got inspected again. I waited for the cops to leave before attempting to put the lumpy-as Calais through an inspection - but at 11pm, they were still going strong. They left the top exit by the exit of the maccas drivethrough unattended and i managed to slip out there. Plenty of cop bikes, pursuit cars, wagons, paddy's milling around all the streets pulling people over too. Went past 1D car, 1 Speed Camera, 2 Pursuit cars, and 1 police s/wagon on my 7km trip home - managed to keep inconspicuous and kept out of trouble. Interesting night though - can't believe I managed to go to Aspley, and come home and not get inspected in what can only be seen as a "hoon" blitz. Was it like this at other "hoon" spots such as Milton ?? or did they just do Aspley. I would hazzard a guess as Milton will be done next week Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
