i have a 5 speed conversion for sale too. it has gearbox - just been cracked open, and a new bearing put in which needed replacing, and also been cleaned and rebuilt - good condition, flywheel and bolts, clutch, pressure plate, master / slave cylinders, gearstick manual surround / centre console ( in brown ), tailshaft, vl tacho dash, pedal box, crossmember. manual ecu as well, and manual starter motor, sandwich plate. have i forgotten anything? it's complete :) i want $800 for it. - PRICE DROP! $700 just spent over $200 getting the gearbox pulled down and cleaned and rebuilt and the bearing replaced all you need is the oil! pics up soon. thanks, kramer

Depends who it is and how much they can drink, LOL! Maybe buy it and put a msg up asking members to come around. Only need one person who knows what they're doing.

the box had done 150,000 km, and was pulled down FULLY and cleaned and inspected. the gearbox mechanic only needed to replace a bearing as that's all that's wrong with it. the gearbox was then put back together, and hasn't been used since. yes i'm serious, and yes it's still for sale. it's not all that hard a job to install. beer gets work :) easy as that Quote: Originally Posted by Blue_VL dude, u still got this for sale? has the box been rebulit fully and how many kms has it done? cheers

i pulled everything out of the car today.. except i had no bloody clue how to get the pedal box out... ill get that later..question ... when u say manual ecu, do u mean the computer thats on the passanger side behind the kick panel?

kramerArchived member
yea under left kick panel. that's the one. there is no other ecu in a manual vl! unless it's been converted from auto :|

VLstock, i had the whole conversion done not long ago in melbourne. cost me $400 for labour and a few other parts. that included taking out the auto box :-) pm me if you want the name of the mechanic who did it. i think a few guys from the forums have used him now for conversions since i had mine done
