As you all know many VL has high kms on the clock. I was wondering who has the highest original kms on there VL. Anyone with 999,999kms ? or more ?
I can start; my original NA motor has 305,020kms and still going.
I know many people has beat this figure. comon post your figures ehehehehe
mines done 287,511.
its an 86 and my dad bought it in 87.....its mine now
in that time its had the valves replaced and nothing else
bloody reliable nissan engines
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
im not really sure what mine has i think sometihng was done to it before i had it but it was like on 740000 lol
still runs touch wood
it probably hasnt done that many but who knows
I have seen a calais in a mechanic shop Martys motors when is was owned by the old owner.. had from memory 450 odd thousand km's on the dial, all genuine, elderly couple.. (like 50-60) Been around australia in it.. (not in one hit) just different times.
Body was average.. interior average.. motor dirty.. but 450,000 odd km's.
It was auto, that light blue colour over silver.. calais mags.. think it was series one. The old guy got it serviced like every 5-7,000 km's. When i saw it, it was getting a general service.. but still going strong apparently..
i recently did a timing belt on a mates R31. it has nearly 360,000 on it and it still runs great. most of the leads were factory still (one was changed).
i've seen a couple in caryards with 700,000 on them and by the look of the engine bay they probably are original kms too.
my brothers has done 420,000 nothing done to engine apart from regular service, still pulls well, doesn't use any oil. these engines truely are amazing.
yeah the RB30 kicks so much ass.
My mate has a '84 VK. He did the motor when he tried to go above 165km/h. He then got a VH motor from the wreckers (reco) now its on its way out after only 1year.
Ive taken my VL to 200km/h and its still kicking, no oil leaks, no burning of oil. Nothing beats reliability!
My bro's VL, well its been written off now, but it had 390,000k's with the original motor. He got it when it had about 190,000k's and the only thing he had to change since he got it was a gearbox. Bad thing is he got a fully reco gearbox and a respray, and exactly one week after he got this done it was written off.
something i'd like to ad is that ive seen in the trader an old twin cam corolla (ae92). it had over 500,000kms and still going strong. add read along these line : mechanically sound, drives excellent, great 1st car, blah blah....
