so ive been told the first street meet for the new sydney based race track wsid is on december 17th,to race your vehicle you need an andra licence and your car has to be under 96db if your car is louder you will be asked to leave the premises....96db?...what are your thoughts...i know its residential but the law states you can make as much noise as you want till 10pm of a night.
Is it the type of Andra licence you have just got to pay and get it? Or is it the type you have to get medical cert and **** like that?
I think with the noise regs it is measured from trackside, not from the exhaust like the RTA / cops do. At trackside, 96 db is pretty loud. I read somewhere that this noise limit was already in practice at Eastern Creek, just wasn't enforced very much and not easily broken (street cars anyway). I may be mistaken though, so don't quote me on that!
i thought the first meet was on jan 17th as told by promoters at auto salon. am i wrong. spewin i cant go ill b on the conitki island great keppel at that time cant wait tanning in the sun looking at many fine b****es haaha
With all the crap strict rule's and regulation's they are looking to enforce at this new track, it still look's as though Heathcote Raceway will be the track of choice for those looking to run the number's, and not have their ball's busted with 'legalities'.......

Street Meetings at WSID
A calendar of regular off-street drag racing events are on the program for Western Sydney International Dragway, and will be scheduled from the very beginning of activities at the venue.
There are some basic requirements which will be in place for these events, the first of which is that the vehicle cannot exceed 95 Db in noise level.
Vehicles exceeding the permissible noise levels will be excluded from the rest of the event and will not be able to compete at future WSID off-street meetings until it can be demonstrated that something has been done to reduce their noise output.
The second major point is that vehicles do not have to be registered. If they are registered youll need an RTA or ANDRA licence and RTA (or other state equivalent) registration papers. If unregistered youll need an ANDRA licence and an ANDRA log book.
Note also that all vehicles running 11.99 seconds or quicker must also be ANDRA licensed.
The recent decision to cancel all future street meets at Eastern Creek Raceway has caused considerable concern for off-street competitors. WSID will be releasing its full calendar of events, including off-street meetings, at the earliest opportunity, as soon as a handover date can be confirmed

As long as it's *only* street meets, and only for road registered cars, I'm not too concerned; even with some sort of open exhaust switch you'd be pushing it to get 96 db out of a street car.
OTOH, if they want top fuellers and funnies to keep under 96 db...
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
i dont think they will enforce these rules, they will either be changed or ignored.
think about it realisticly how many cars at drag combat are gonna come under 96db??
i think its all a load of crap.
yeah its been confirmed since final battle auto salon in sydney. should b a great meet but as for all these rules being made i dont think they would b passed especially the 96db rule they r clutching at straws so they can keep it safe and s*** its gonna deter many drivers and soon it will go bankrupt
Was speaking to George from PAC today.
He told me their first run with MX6 at WSID (West SIDe ) will be 17th Jan for test'n'tune.
Saturdays a much better day than a Wednesday i reckon.
That works out to be weekend after summernats. What a busy month!!!
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
simple pointers for people not in the know
if you feel i have missed out on some info, please add it in.

ANDRA licences like many of you might know are required if the car enters the 11.99-11.00 bracket and obviously if you go below that bracket.
Cost = about $140
If you reach 10.99 (i don't have that issue... yet) they'll jump on you straight away worse than the RTA. You need roll cage and other bull****, but they won't let you race until your car is complied with ANDRA regualtions. Pretty much, its best you do a 9 sec run and get thrown out rather than get into the 10s, lol.
It's best you look up these requirements yourselves, because I don't have the need.
But if you comply, they will leave you alone and its relatively easy.
As for exhaust noise... don't over-worry yourselves about it too much if your planning on never removing it or cutting it short right after the turbo or some **** like that.
Drag Combat is on February 14th. Was supposed to be in Jan but was postponed due to the weather conditions back in Nov.
