Official Announcement Date & Time: Sunday 01st June 2003 @ 10:00am Meeting/Starting Place: Olympic Park, Cnr Australia Ave & Herb Elliot Ave, Homebush Bay, Sydney Parking lot is right opposite the Olympic Park train station. (See Map) Destination: Blue Mountains Via Great Western Hwy thru Wentworth Falls & Katoomba & Lithgow Essential Information: * Notice of confirmation/cancellation of the VL Cruise will be posted on this forum 24 hours before the event. The weather forecast is on ninemsn and will be used to determine the decision on the event. (http://weather.ninemsn.com.au/weathe...ocation=sydney (http://weather.ninemsn.com.au/weather/national/nsw.asp?location=sydney)) * Please fill up your fuel tank before arrival at Homebush Bay for departure. We won't be stopping for fuel, unless of course Shell sells their Optimax for a very low .50 cents per litre at that same time, which I doubt it'll happen at all. :P * Cameras are great ways of capturing the moment for future reference to the event. Bring one along. * Supply your mobile#, name and car you drive through EMAIL ([email removed]), PM or SMS#********** to receive an SMS message on any last minute updates on the cruise. Comes in handy when you live far. Also note down that same mobile# to use for any enquiries on how to get to the meeting place, or for any other enquiries. * The date is on a non-double-demerit weekend but we still ask all to please drive safely * Please pass on the message to your friends with VLs or with nice cars, and if they require more information just hand out the mobile# **********. * This is a VL Cruise so please do cruise closely together i.e. all vehicles cruise and drive closely to each other as to not cause an accident but to aid in keeping all drivers visible and together in the pack. If anyone seems to have fallen behind at a set of traffic lights, we should high-beam the car in front of us to notify something is wrong, even in any other situation that may appear, e.g. an engine problem. * We will travel on the M4, so please bring change for the toll. * For more updates, please watch this topic. Regards, John - GMH3OL [email removed] ********** Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Pics have been updated problem with server, sorry ppls Cmon ppl, wheres the interest in this cruise??? It will be the last one for a while. Prob the next one won't be maybe till November, to mark an anniversary of our cruise last year, Reason being that too many sometimes may go out of fashion. We'll leave the number of cruises to three a year. But it doesn't mean that other meets may be cancelled out. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i'll be there and my mate in his RB20 180sx.... i went on a skyline cruise the other day and they all have handheld CB's .... bout $80 each for a good one... they all use the same channel so all the people on the cruise can communicate all the time.... i thought this was a brilliant idea and i am going to invest in one... anyone else think so??

Ill be there again I was only thinking handhelds would have been perfect for last cruise, considering the huge amounts of traffic, we had to deal with. Next cruise i dont see to many dramas though, because we should be the only ones really out and about. Mick Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

its simple cruise just a little slower than the speed limit, ie 90 in a 100 zone, have one leader, no idiots trying to race whiling cruising, and if more than say 30%-40% of people get stuck behind, pull over otherwise you have to catch up yourself. Hence the reason for going below the speed limit. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

We'll have a good chat on the day about everything. As for essential guidelines, whats posted above should be enough for everyone to understand and follow. If we post anymore, we're gonna need solicitors to make it a legal document. As long as everyone turns up and is more open and friendly and willing to listen, which I'm sure everyone certainly is , then we should have a great day cruising the cars. Just think about being there, getting together and don't worry about how to cruise. One example would be the ANZAC day Supercruise. The concept of that cruise is 'meet up here at this time', and follow the rest of the cars to Wollongong. If anyone wants to show off while theyre cruising, its their choice. As long as they stay with the group its all good, otherwise its their problem. If you get lost, theres always my contact number you can buzz and we can wait up or lead you in the right direction. I'm not all  you know, lol. We'll just be there to have a good time on the day, and to get to meet other owners of fabulous VLs. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
