i really dunno where to post this, so it will probably get moved (thanks in advance) but at the wreckers today i spotted a 2 1/2 inch (pretty much)brand new exhaust from the Cat Back, now its only gonna cost me $70 but im wondering how hard its gonna be to put on my car, which currently just has the standard exhaust. anyway that has experience in doing this, is it easy to do, i had a look at the cat, and it just seems to bolt on, is it really that easy or am i missing something completely? thanks for any help i get

yeah it sounds good! and it will make a difference! but if your planing some further (turbo) mods, then go for the three inch! saves you doing it later! but if your a bit short on the funds, then go for it!

it shouldn't be too hard there are just the little brackets that go around the pipe, just un-bolt them and take off the rubber holding things, and with a little "persuasion" (spelling ) it should just slide off. When I replaced my rear muffler with much more "freeflowing" one shall we say, it just slid off. easier if you have a pit though. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i had alook under the car just before looks like undoing the cat will be very easy, theni saw all those rubber things which ya mean as well, but where the exhaust goes over the diff looks to be a bit of a worry

yeah, it (well mine anyway) has a few different sections that unbolt, I think you'll be able to get it out from the diff without too much trouble (might need to jack it up or something (or drive 2 wheels up a high gutter )) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah ive done this before on my old vl it was all cruisy until i came to the last bit near the rear muffler, when the pipe goes over the axle in theory this connection should just pull straight off, but mine didnt due to the amount of time the stock system had been on there i yanked and i yanked but it didnt budge. so out came the hacksaw to get the bloody thing off. i think it took about 2 hours of sawing and a couple of hacksaw blades later to get through this pipe. the main reason why it took so long was that there isnt much room under there for a hacksaw. so if you have this problem with removing your old system, just have a little patience.
