Also how can i put the cooler back enough so that the bumper fits back on, it wont go back enough because of the aircon fan being in the way? I sent out emails to everyone last night stating that there was a problem with the 1 top pipe and that you will need to purchase some replacement heater hose to fix the problem (eg. the fitting is around 5cm's away from where it should be). It should only cost around $2 - $5 for this hose. With the aircon you have 2 options, you can either go to a smaller fan (the cheapest replacement thermos we found were at Repco and were $50), or alternatively you can move the cooler forward and cut into the bar reinforcement. The choice is up to you. If there's anything else I can help you with, just send me a PM. cheers, Greg

Hey Greg. I thought that these coolers were meant to go onto a standard car with 'no mods' or anything like 'cutting' out reinforcement bars or changing aircon fans. The breather hose i dont care about but changing things on my car is very concerning to me!!!!!!!!!!!

you dont have air con on a BT1, so it wouldnt worry you!

Plenty of BT-1's have aircon... And they are all factory!

The breather hose i dont care about but changing things on my car is very concerning to me!!!!!!!!!!! You are correct, they are supposed to be. Only now we've found that the intercooler doesn't fit in between some of the air con dans and the reinforcement. The black car that we originally used had air con and it was fine, whether it had an aftermarket fan or not, we're not sure. You don't have to remove your air con at all, far from it. The only thing you will need to do is get a smaller fan (as above we have found some 12" high quality thermos from Super cheap for only $50), alternatively you can cut back your bar reinforcement (but this is not necessary). i picked up my kit the other night and Greg has explained all of these things to me before i purchased it (throttle body bypass hose, possibility to trim front bar) im currently in the middle of installing it, i have air con but previous owner has cut the hoses so i will be taking out the air con. i will let you all know how long it took and any problems that occurred. ill throw up some pics once its complete

Will my car overheat with the fan removed, or will my aircon just not work as good?

From what I have heard almost all VL's have faulty Air con fans and they don't work?? If it isn't working or is removed your air con may not work as well when the car isn't moving. Greg

Does anyone know if you remove the air con fan & replace with a small thermo can you just cut the two wires to the original fan & wire them straight into the new thermo??? I don't see why not, I might just go without the aircon for a little while until I can see how much room I'll have to play with.
