Dan, you have a problem. That is an extremely tidy example though. I surprised the spoilers are in such great shape - they normally don't age well. Mine were rooted. I feel your pain over the leak - after a complete rebuild mine still leaks. Not impressed. Don't think it's all through the screen either - seems to come from somewhere behind the kick panels, but I'll be buggered if I can find where.

^ That sucks...Ive had the front screen done in my 2L sedan and it leaks like a tap on both sides Luckily all 3 of my VL's are under cover You mention it coming from behind the kick panels, well I pulled the drivers side panel off the GTS when i found the water and could see the drips running down so probably from the same place as yours. I'm pretty sure I remember the previous owner mentioning that the front screen wasn't pulled out, so I may have to do that..... Even a VL with low mileage that's been garaged isn't safe from water leaks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

After i got my car i found the windscreen was leaking , had a new one fitted and it was still leaking so got them back to refit it as after removing most of the dash you could see sections where there was hardly any sealer , they finaly got it right after putting heaps of sealant on and no more leaks

Dan check if it is the original screen(date code)When I rebuilt this wagon I put in a new windscreen lace and had an old installer who had done them before install it.Most likely the lace is buggered.Run the water into the corner to see if and how much is running in.Remove the front speakers to check what the condition of the sill is as well. I feel your pain! Cheers Marty

Mine has a uni seal, but an old screen. Marty what do you mean by the lace - the rubber seal thing with the metal parts that sit under the urethane stuff?

The windscreen lace is like a metal spring that goes around the the window frame(on the body.It spaces the window out correctly, And helps bond the screen the the body.it is a press fit.If the is not enough sealent that rusts and expands to allow the water in as well..You can get them from the wreakers but you will have to get two,The bottoms nowdays have rusted away,So you use the two top halfs. Cheers Marty

I've owned about 30 vl's in my time never had a leak until I brought a vt. But yeah way back in the mid 90's when I first got into vl's they were hard to find without rust in the front screen and rear to. Has anyone seen the vl gts add on you tube don't know how to link it on here?
