thats a cool add, so shiny and the glare that comes off the alloys crikey. good find guys ---------- Post added 06-09-12 at 05:56 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by ss nut [View Post] The windscreen lace is like a metal spring that goes around the the window frame(on the body.It spaces the window out correctly, And helps bond the screen the the body.it is a press fit.If the is not enough sealent that rusts and expands to allow the water in as well..You can get them from the wreakers but you will have to get two,The bottoms nowdays have rusted away,So you use the two top halfs. Cheers Marty that metal 'spring' you speak of is the reason the front valance rusts out, water gets in and rots away the un treated wire. when refitting new screen, un pick the stitching, throw away the wire loops and glue the hood lining to the metal and get your scrren guy to run thick bead of seal round before fitting new screen with universal rubber-simple.

Treated or untreated wire what does it matter if water get in.water should not get in.It is there for movement and also as a spacer. If you want to run the universal rubber then good you can throw it away,But if you want the moulds just get them to do it correctly.Even the rear screens were prone to rust if not done correctly Cheers Marty

It was only a week or so later they relised it had leaked after a really stormy day It went back in and they couldn't get water through into the inside at the glazier. After running a heap of water over it. Turns out it was due to the wind and the glass flexing it was pulling the water in. It wasn't a bad leaking but enough to spot it on the carpet. They pull it out and re-sealed it. Was mint from then on.

Cheers Marty ---------- Post added 06-09-12 at 19:58 ---------- Another place to check Dan is where the bonnet hinges are on the drivers side,Place the hose down the water drain and see if any comes in,Could be blocked with all sorts of rubbish. yip Danny,(unwnt2) from this site is your best bet. he can do both for you, and do it rite the first time. Alot cheaper than any other places. If anything though DO NOT go to pit stop. bunch of muppets, and they charge crap loads for crap job! Give Danny a p.m-He is very busy at the mo though.

I got a wof this week. Also got found out that its the beginning of the end for the bottom end. Starting to knock which suggests bearings. Not too bad at the moment so hopefully i can just get away with replacing the bearings.
