just wanted to say, had all this fitted up for a little while, vtmaster vs booster/res etc. using std brakes on the rear and r33 4spot calipers on vn sv5000 330x30mm rotors. (front brakes serviced and plates supplied by vhr32, look him up, awesome bloke and his work stuff works 100%) straight away they felt good.. but after about 500kms of very soft run in driving (soft on engine and brakes) they feel fantastic. i dont think i could live without this brake upgrade now, literally, its the firmness that really gives that good feeling, instant response too. now when im driving every day in my pulsar im scared i wont be able to stop in time, where as i used to feel like that going from the pulsar to the calais haha. goodwriteup guys, also if there is a market for premade brackets that bolt the booster to the firewall let me know, guy that whipped mine up could probably smash out a few more for those of us who dont have welders lying around.

Hey guys im only 16 and i managed to do this, took me a little while, the vs reservoir i bought wasn't the proper one the holes didn't line up, so i just drilled through and put a bolt through i had, and all went good, it takes a bit of time and patience bending the brakes lines, i haven't even bleed the brakes yet and the peddle is so much better, I didn't use any line adapters but i wanna do it properly thing is i live in a lil country town where noone sells these, so would anyone be keen to buy some for me and send em to me? All pay all expenses plus a bit extra, does anyone wanna help me out? Cheers

Ring race brakes they have the 3 adapters ..2 different types: 2 for front lines ,1 for rear line..not cheap but you dont have any real choice....credit card over the phone or work out some other form of payment and they will send them to you.I got mine from melbourne 03 96877222 .

I got mine from Hoppers Stoppers, from memory I paid about AU$35 for a set? may seem like a lot to some, but yea like markovr said, you don't have any other choice, you really should use the adapters.

You will have to bend the lines around to fit and do something with the screw adjustment on the booster for where the rod pushes on the master but it should all fit and clear everything.

i got a quick one for people, regarding single flare double flare etc spoke to my neighbour he said bull**** everything from as far back as he can remember is double flare, so i checked my brake lines sure enough double flare so why do we need these adapters? am i missing something?

The VT brake lines at the Master Cyl end are a single-flare type (I think this changed around mid-VP). As a comparison, my flatmate put a VT master cyl into his VR, and he didnt need any adapters because the flares on his brake lines mated up with the VT master. But when I put the VT master in my VL, I needed the adapters because my brake lines didn't mate properly with the master. This diagram might help to explain: (just pretend the arrows are the flares) (VT Master cyl) |> <| (VL lines) ....the Threads on the fittings will mate up, but the Flares are the same (think of it as 2 magnetic North-Poles) - you would be trying to make them seal on the tip of each flare (not enough surface area to provide an adequate seal). (VT Master cyl) |> >| (VP-onward lines) ...here the flares are opposite of each other, so one will seal 'inside' the other.

i have read the thread, just not the update stuff, someone earlier on was explaining single flare to double flare difference which is wrong what seems to be the case is both are double flares but one has an inverted seat i'll check this out when i get home without looking when i get home i assume these would be the differences Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Do you need to modify anything to mount a VL Turbo 1" Master cylinder to a VS booster? Another question - whats the difference between a VS V6 booster and a VS V8 booster??

The mounting configuration is different and the VS master cylinder like the VT one also as a protruding rear body that sits into the booster. VS master cylinder bore is 22.22mm and 28.57mm it is a stepped bore.

Would re-boring a 1inch master cylinder (to make it oversize) do anything? I have the standard 1inch m/s with the VT twin pots, I haven't really driven the car more than a kilometre, but the brakes didn't feel that great. I only ask as I have an RB25DET in the bay, and there is a gnat's c0ck clearance between the booster and intake plenum, which means it'll be a major pain to change the booster.
