gives the plugs maximum spark all of the time, where as running just from a coil its only sparking some of the time. Ill type in the stuff they say bout it later for ya. More spark means more power, more boost etc etc Yes i know its a complete copy of the MSD ones, just label different.but at quater of the price for something that does the same job and gets hidden away. ---------- Post added 26-08-10 at 15:50 ---------- Theory of 6 series Ignition. 6 series ignitions feature a captive discharge ignition design. The majority of stock ignition systems are inductive ignitions. In an in ductive ignition, the coil must store and step up the voltage to maximum strength in between each firing. At higher RPM,since there is less time to charge the coil to full capicity, the voltage falls short of reaching maximum energy which results in a loss of power or top end miss. The BKC ignition features a capacitor which is quickly charged(within one millisecond) with 460-480 volts and stores it until the ignition is triggered. End Quote... lost ya yet? i can also run tacho from it,and set rev limiter for if i miss a gear etc.also has anti theft deterrent(shell crank over but wont fire)

where'd ya get that from Kelvin? I was looking into doing the same, but after seeing the prices of MSD stuff I wasn't that keen anymore haha. So does it get wired to the ecu instead of using the factory coil?

Got it from STA parts.really was cheap, well worth it mate.i see in lastest petrol head Performance parts in takanini are doing MSD ones for twice what i payed for this. try to get hold of the 6BTM one though cause its made for Turbos and supercharged,be taking this one back and swapping it,although it will do the job fine. It wires up to your factory coil no worries, ill be running that to start with. and it has its own wiring loom, battery, coil, ignition, and old coil wires.simple as to do by the looks

^^ They can still take off heck of a beating !! A heavy pressure plate on your standard clutch will prob fix the slipping, But honestly for power cruise I would go with hd clutch and pressure plate.
