What was it doing Brad? Smoking when fitted on his car? Maybe he has other issues?....
It is true that if theres too much crankcase pressure the motor will use the turbo drain as a breather causing oil to pool in the core and will push past the seals....What sort of turbo was it? Your GT35?????

yeah daz he was getting oil oput of the rear of the turbo, and thats exactly what ive been told by numerous mechanics, too much crank case pressure pushed it out through the turbo, hence you need bigger breathers
the exact same thing haapend on a mates car when he fitted a 30/40, hes also a mechanic
most definately.
if your getting blowby and the breathers arent big enough to dump the pressure the first thing it does is pump oil up the drain pipe and will usually push through the rear turbo seal.
it makes a **** off cloud of smoke everytime you hit boost.
and brand new engines virtually always get blowby if they arent driven like a madman in the first 20 minutes after the cam has been bed in or synthetic oil is used to run in.

hey i just bought a T03/04 garrett turbo and i have a stock VL manifold is it possible to fit it straight on to the stock manifold or do i have to get a custom one? cheers
hey there im planning on doing a 10sec pass in my vlt but im just wandering should i go top mount or low mount an should i go 35-40 with 1.06 rear or .82 rear few mates reckon i should go a t04z with top mount what do you think would be the best combo cheers michael
with either gt35 or t04z i can do hi mount and low mount manifolds.
the system will work just as good regardless of the mounting so its pretty much a decision based on how you want the engine bay to look.
with a good auto box the gt35/1.06 will get you the 10 second pass.
the t04z will do it on less boost so you can make more power on street fuel and run faster times,but you will have more lag.
