18-05-12, 15:15 GMT+10#261 Umm the fact that you haven't uploaded the video of it yet.. But I'm hangin to see it
I'd personally recommend the Logan motorway over the M1, that way when it steps out and u lose it you don't have to cross 3 other lanes before u smack the wall or the armco

18-05-12, 16:41 GMT+10#262 If its run on mickey street radials it should hook up fine on the street. Those things are impressive tyres... Pretty sure a 10.5 fox body mustang in the states runs low 7's on them

18-05-12, 19:47 GMT+10#264 You're talking 600rwkw... It's not going to hook up.
Look at JET3LT, makes around 650rwkw and it's manual with huge circuit tyres and doesn't get traction until around 170kmh on a runway, let alone your average highway.
Most cars with 400rwkw struggle to hook up on the street.

18-05-12, 20:18 GMT+10#265 I guess time will tell
It won't be running radials tho
Most likely Hoosier qtp 28x11.5x15 which is basically a slick with a couple grooves
Stickier then an et street, a lot stickier than a radial

^That is pretty much the theme of this thread, some of the guys here make a good point, you could have been driving it for a couple of years now, and most probably reliably if you had been reasonable with the kw/reliability factor.
When you are talking these kind of power figures I dont think your luck is going to change much in future either.
Why dont you just dial it down, run it on pump fuel and drive the damn thing?
Whatever you are trying to do has already been done numerous times, I also think people get more respect when they drive their 500hp cars on the street regularly, turn up to meets and put on a show ie: ollie for example

19-05-12, 08:08 GMT+10#269 wow been a while since I found myself on CT only to see poor troy still without a running car.
Well I'll go now and maybe come back to this thread in 3 months and see nothing has changed.
Bye.

19-05-12, 17:05 GMT+10#270 What is ur outright goal for this build?
To run a number at the track or run a number on a dyno?
Im still trying to figure this out...
U have a spare motor which wont cop the turbo... U r in the process of building a motor that ur not confident that will cop the power... Y not jus build the motor right the first time? Or run a smaller turbo that will still net u ur '800hp' and be better for the street
If it was me id ditch the turbo and get a smaller precision turbo which will smash the 45r and get a 7177 or even a 6766 both will pump 700+hp with ease...
Any reason ur so keen to run the turbo u hav?

19-05-12, 18:01 GMT+10#271 So much time and money had gone into this car. Like a few other people on here, I'm lost and confused reading this thread. Surely not setting the bar so high would have been a better start maybe. It's cool to say you have 1000hp, but we all know reality is that sh$t ain't streetable. I've got a mild 2j that Andy and Danny pieced together with one of grants 42's on the side, I hoped for 600 and Sean at efi cleared 800. And trust me she ain't no money pit. And that was in 6 weeks including building the car.
Not having a go, but this build of yours has been huge and what seems to be an expensive lesson and maybe too much $ thrown at it.
But good luck mate, clearly it hasn't been on you side so far.

19-05-12, 23:09 GMT+10#272 No, luck hasn't been on my side with this car at all
If I had of done a built motor straight away, I prob wouldn't have had all these dramas
The point of the car is to enjoy it which I haven't really been able todo yet
But every time I've gotten to drive it, I'm sure I've got a big cheesy grin
The plan is to run at least a 10@145-150+
The motor is all finished and I'll hopefully have it all back in by Sunday night ready to start

20-05-12, 00:37 GMT+10#274 How long has this build been going for? If it was me i probably would have thrown a stocker in there with the turbo on lower boost until you sorted out the forged engine.
Those stock 2J's can cop a bit of abuse no?
