Update? Calais pop ups may be going on the weekend. Just one more reason to get her down to the panel shop to have a proper front painted up!
Pop ups removed:
Old front re-fitted (dummy fit; needs to be replaced because it's crooked as a politician):

Anyway, besides the nose cone, what else is going on with the car?

That's all that's really news at the moment, Justin. I sold my pop ups today, so that'll go towards my diff. Met SirGeo today; I must say I think the forum is in good hands.
Should have the cash I need in the next couple of months. Hopefully.

i'd be looking at a watts linkage setup alot cheaper and easier that irs and very good for circuit racing, i can give you the number of a guy who has been doing them for years, he has been racing for over 30years and knows his stuff.

03-07-09, 10:38 GMT+10#267 If you could give me that guy's number, I'd appreciate that FATPSI. I think I'm just going to put full NA spec everything back in for the moment, go get it registered, then get back on track with the real bits.

11-08-09, 09:20 GMT+10#269 ...of what?
Any who, did my tax the other night, so when that fins it's way into my account I'll have enough coin to get my diff done. Plenty of pics then.
Got a price on an AU Falcon diff cover, which I'll probably use in preparation for the Watts Linkage conversion. Fits straight on, factory with Watts. Cover was about $240 ish, and the bellcrank was $43. All brand new from Ford. Might even get the cover modified for high volume. We'll see if there's room.
Once the diff is done, I'll get the interior out of the way (finish the carpet, get the plastics resprayed, put them back in, foam ALL OVER the cage).
Then chuck some NA spec brakes on, bleed them, and whack a cheap NA motor/5 speed in and get some sort of registration happening.
Oh, and the windows.....hmm......VT window seal.

12-08-09, 11:43 GMT+10#270 i prefer clean new vl window seals to vt ones, something about the new style seal i just think doesnt sit right with the boxy shape of the car having a round window seal lol

12-08-09, 14:40 GMT+10#271 You reckon? I suppose the OG style would be more desireably with brand new parts. They always look so crap, because they're 23 years old and munted.
The VT seal is just hassle free.

12-08-09, 14:53 GMT+10#272 hey are you getting the au diff cover for strengh being stronger that tin?

12-08-09, 16:51 GMT+10#273 No, getting it because it's built as a Watts Linkage style from factory. Just saves me from having to get a standard one modified.

13-08-09, 16:34 GMT+10#274 your kinda right about the hassle free, but if you put it on right the 1st time with brand new bits, think how nice and clean itl be instead of spaceship style but yeh vt window seals are lazy style
