After all the two stroke loving at the start of the thread have brought a 2008 Crf450x off a good mate.. should be nice to have some bells and whistles the 05 yz doesn't have.. Rode it for half a day its definitely alot easier on the arms but when you start chasing some sort of band wind up going dangerously fast haha ---------- Post added 02-09-12 at 01:58 ---------- Not going to sell the two stroke spent too much money on it think I will just pick and choose depending on the terrain

Didn't know this thread existed... probably because I didn't have a bike. Recently I purchased this 02 WR250. It's my first bike. I got my license the other week and getting rec rec next week on it so I can hit the bush with my mates who go riding, can't wait! Needs a sticker kit but I'm pretty happy with it. Usually fires up first kick from cold. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

So I've had the bike for a few months now. Only taken it out about 3-4 times so far due to the business I'm in. So far I'm enjoying it over all. I love riding on the open tracks but find the tight stuff a bit challenging for my skill level at the moment, especially when it's super muddy and slippery. I find it hard with the weight of the bike and a kick start... I get frustrated easily. I don't mind the bike although I find it pretty heavy. I got it tuned and put a sports header and tail pipe on it so at least it sounds good now. I've dropped it a few times and the best bit about it is I dont even care because it's covered in scratches anyway haha. Next bike I'd definately get electric start, aluminium frame to save weight and I don't particularly need any more power so 200-300cc but it's a good starter bike!

I could ride it around the yard, it's big enough.

Should organise it. Warburton to Rifton pub for lunch and back is a really good ride.

Just bought a yz250f 08 model. Where are some good riding spots around Victoria doesn't really worry me where they are!! I don't have rec reg or a license yet. Looking into doing both. But for the mean time any good riding spots where me and a few bikes can get away with riding with no rec reg or license!! Thanks in advance

Unless it's private land you run the risk riding without rec reg or a license.

Yeah I understand that!! Wasn't sure if some ppl knew some good riding spots deep in the bush where you wouldn't see any1 or be hassled!! Bike is all ready to get rec rego'd just need to get my license so I can get the bike all rego'd.

I've been riding 4 years. Seen cops once... I'd say u would be ok to go out for a squirt but. There is always the possibility. Is it worth the $1500 gamble?

We came back to our cars on Sunday and there were cops there checking everyones licenses and rego's. They didnt worry about noise or anything, they were awesome actually. If you're going to be out in the bush, do the right thing and get rego and license. The best thing is if you need an ambulance you have TAC cover. If not then you're out of luck.

Try and stay away from the hot spots and common take off points like neerim south (car park), noojee and places like them. i ride rawson alot, never had a problem or ran into them. also a fair way down big river road (frenchmans camp). they dont tend to go that far out but love all the bigger camps closer to marysville. Alot of good riding around thornton, never had a problem myself but ive heard them being at a main take off point (bottom of pumping station). If you have a map there is plenty of places to park and ride from without being hassled.
