End of the day the VT window seal is used because the stock VL originals were a poor design, even if the berlina won't see much weather i would still use the VT window seal for some piece of mind. You'd be pissed if you found rust in a few years time because you went the stock seal!

lol well if a stock seal properly sealed up doesnt stop rust then a smaller seal isnt going to either to be honest, if both have the same contact area and material its the design of the body not the seal thats causing the rust

I wouldn't be using factory Ford watts arms, I'd be using custom made adjustable ones.
It's still up in the air; I haven't made any decisions about the watts setup yet.

In a similar boat as you guys with this weather strip.
Got the car running today. just fuel pump and ecu.
Was gunna go the 608 uni-seal (VT mold)
But having second thoughts.
I dont want the stock plastics to retain all that water and rust up again???
Isn't that the problem with the stock setup.
Water builds up under the plastics, causing rust.
I reckon a nice stock weather strip would look as good as the VT mold????
Cant decide???

I suppose you could have the VT seal, and then glue the stock trims on too. The sides of the windscreen are really the only different part, so with some careful placement you could have the best of both worlds. Well, maybe. Not sure hjow it'd turn out.

your car makes me jealous Tim!
the paint on the cage matches the interior really well!

Thanks Justin. That took a good two hours to do what you see there. Carefully cut the scuff plate to fit around the bar, cut and plug the carpet, fit the seatbelt around the the bars...the other side is the same, minus the scuff plate. I need to replace the front two and rear right. Once I finish the other rear scuff, the back seat can go back in!
The colour was matched off the inside of a rear door handle. Never seen sunlight.

New carpet Locky! Knox Auto Carpets off eBay. It's moulded, but you have to cut all the holes yourself. It's two piece as well.
