Thanks turbokid. I'm looking forward to the photo's. We're not looking for cars that are in any way pristine here, just any A9Y wagon. It can be a farm wreck, a burnt out shell, a show car, doesn't matter just so long as it has the A9Y plate.
You can't argue with paying just $50 for it.

No worries Brandon. Strange one that. I'd completely forgotten about Car Australia mag and had never seen the article either, just stumbled across a copy on Ebay a couple of weeks ago.
Makes sense they bag the VL here as the other two are much newer designs and the VN was just around the corner but how much better does the Calais wagon look compared to the other two !!
It's another one for the list anyway.

If so I've got a surprise coming later today when I can get to the scanner.
My A9y was originally a Press Test vehicle. The owners hand book lists the first Rego as DJU-730, before it came to WA and fitted with WA rego plates. I have included a scan of the book, Is it possible that someone has written the wrong rego in the book and this is my wagon in that magazine article getting flogged?

That's a find and a half !!
Could be VP. Maybe it's a weird 4 or a misquoted rego in the book (happens all the time). I'm not sure how plates are allocated in VIC but I know dealers here get allocated batches of them with consecutive numbers so maybe Holden did/does too. Allocating 300 plates for Holden to register cars for themselves sounds like way too many in the three months they took building these things. With DJU-430 being the only recorded press test car in a time when everything was in print, and from a batch of only 200 cars, sounds too close for coincidence.
I'd put money down on it being the same car.

I've barely used or touched the car since i bought it so have been through the glove box again and no other things with the original Rego. There are a few pieces of paper though from it being a test vehicle like blank evaluation forms.
If anybody has any ideas on tracking the original Rego please let me know.

Already listed. Thanks though. It's handy keeping track of their movements as they pop up again for sale. This one was listed on Ebay by the same person back in September.

Excellent Chloe. Thanks. Only took how long ?
A bit of info for you. Your n/a car and Ben's (mulbz) n/a are only two body numbers apart, (277243/277245) the closest I've seen. They would almost have been one after the other on the production line on the same day.
New total of 62 up on the first page now too.
