02-11-09, 19:52 GMT+10#301 Awesome Justin, I want to see photos. It actually started with being "dropped off tomorrow" on 22/10, then "dropped off" on 23/10, but automerged doubleposted because it happened within 24 hours. But yeah, picking it up on 27/11. I went back on 26/10 to drop off some handbrake mounts, and the Detroit was there all pulled apart. Side gears have been sent off to be modified to 31 spline.
Backseat is in after both rear scuffs have been modified, yay.

04-11-09, 13:04 GMT+10#306 Don't even talk to me about spigot bearings. No, that socket is still in there.
I'm hoping to weld a nut on there and then yank it out with a bolt. Then I'm going to destroy it.

pack it all full of grease and then fit a bar that size inside the rear of the socket and smash it in it will hydraulic lock and force the socket out
then do the same for the spigot except not such a tight fit

04-11-09, 13:23 GMT+10#308 The socket is a really small 14mm 3/8. It was a bit of an effort to get it in, and now it's past the spigot, loose at the back of the crank. I want to blow it up.
No hydraluic action possible, as it's right at the back (of the space inside) of the crank.

i really don't think your understanding what im saying man
its hydraulic force
if you hit the fluid with the shaft it is going to compress, it will get to a point where will no longer compress and then find the next easiest place out, because your hitting the shaft with a hammer in the next easiest place to go is for the fluid to push against the socket and it will pop back out towards you
repeat this process with the spigot, fcuk it i'll find a video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWBdhvsTZAM
not even 10 seconds to get it out
oh and once you get it out you'll all be like this song

04-11-09, 15:06 GMT+10#310 I watched the videos man. When it gets to the end of the hole within the crank, you have to pull it out and repack it with grease.
I simply don't have something the right size.

06-11-09, 09:44 GMT+10#313 Thanks MUSone.
A mate might be coming over to give me a hand today Chris. It's only a rwc motor, so not too stressed about hurting it a bit.

29-11-09, 09:34 GMT+10#318 Yeah, it definately isn't a cheap diff. But with any luck it'll never, ever break.
Don't worry Luke, I'll get it NA powered and do a demo for you.

29-11-09, 09:49 GMT+10#319 I read somewhere, maybe this thread.
That the TruTRac cost $1390
Just for the unit itself.
I think that is reasonable.
Looks good, and will perform.

29-11-09, 21:10 GMT+10#320 I can't remember the exact price of the centre, but my diff builder got it a bit cheaper than what's listed on their website. It cost around $300 to be modified to 31 spline.
RWC motor has been assembled; just need a few bits in pieces before I put it in the car. Progress is going to be slowed by Christmas and a trip overseas next year.
