I just bought a wrecked R33 GTST to get all the gear out of to do this conversion in mine, luckily i already have an MX7 so im halfway there! Clutch will be jim berry full monty on a 9.5inch flywheel Im gonna try adapt the VLT slave cylinder to fit on the R33 box because at the moment it (the clutch pedal) feels amazing and i dont want to lose that

Hows that dodge? the welds probably stronger than the tab To me "do it right" if your using a R33 slave means rig up vaccum assistance to the VL master (like it has in he skylines) as everyone says the pedal is alot stiffer in a VL than a skyline. Thats the reason the skyline slaves have a smaller bore. Dont need to buy a new one anyway, theres one on the skyline i bought. Or you can stick with the size slave thats designed for the VL system.

Cool I did not realise that the r33/34 had a smaller slave.. Is the VL one the same size as the nismo one maybe? ---------- Post added 13-03-12 at 19:38 ---------- ps.. my pedal is a workout with a brass button & r34 slave.

Does anyone know if you can still get the speedo drive for this conversion, new from Nissan Part number 32702-02G17 When using this speedo drive, do you still use the 3.45 gear ratio in the diff

I got one brand new through a local Nissan dealer and if have standard diff ratio 3.45 speedo will be spot on , If your Nissan dealer cant get it go to your local holden dealer ask for a mx7 speedo drive which is the exact same thing

Got mine wired up, basically joined spade terminals onto the gearbox plug and then cut and joined the wires from the loom to the plug. My reverse lights work, and so does the dash light. But only kind of. If I go into reverse and push the gearstick a little away from me, to the passenger side, the lights work. but if I pull it towards the drivers side the lights don't work. Is the switch probably worn? (If so, I'll live with it, I know when the lights are on because the dash is on, so its ok.) Not keen on pulling the box just to change the switch. Does anyone know how exactly it's activated? Is it off the shifter? because I did have to open the shifter and **** around in there when I munched the nylon bush shifting like a hektic c**t at barbagallo. Maybe I did something then that I could undo to make the switch not be so sh*t?

its probably just the rod on the end of the switch is worn. Il have to get you to send me a pic of which wired were for the reverse lights so I can get around to doing mine eventually as well

Is there any differences between the to boxes on the inside. In pics of the 2, the r34 box looks like the stronger of the two boxes. How much power have people put through these boxes (standard box). How much more power can they handle with a gear set
