Can somebody please explain to me as to why the insurance company suddenly "owns" your car after a crash...........as to make things worse for you they steal your car off you and even after the payment/s you make to those scumbags.....they still want you to "buy" your OWN car back.. jeepers Whats the go with the guy in the camry :/ he was the one who hit you Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

genki: if your car is a write off and they pay you what you had it insured for, they then consider the wreck to be their property and it goes off to auction. anything not listed on the policy can be taken out/off... like stereo gear, rims, steering wheels, gauges etc. etc. which is why so many cars at pickles come on chasers with no stereo :P but the car as a whole belongs to them until auction. Chris, did you ammend the insurance policy to include the new driveline? kos if you didn't, and you still have your reciepts, then in theory... the tranny and forged motor is still yours and you could demand them back in exchange for stock items... key words there being "in theory"... kos i'm sure they'd kick up a fuss about it...

Anything not on the insurance policy is deemed as a mod and may be used to void insurance. Typically they own whatever was on the car at time of accident. The reason they have no stereo is that they go missing between the holding yards and going to auction. This is the reason after an accident have your car taken to your house and not a holding yard so you can remove the items even if you have to pay for the tow.

Hopefully they don't want too much for it My first VL was insured for 4.5k, it was written off and i offered them $200 for the wreck. Its not about how much its all worth, alot of the time they take **** all for it. I would start real low with your offer, you never know what they'd take. Thanks for the support guys & girls, I've 100% recovered and I'm compiling a list of cars to check out when the insurance gets payed through. Car still starts, sort of moves, selects all gears, boosts and most importantly transbrakes Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
