I didn't think Calais turbo wagon was such
A rare thing ! That's why I was just goin to gut
An sell all the Calais bits !
So what's a rust free vlct wagon worth!????
Ive had about 10+ vl's an this is one of the cleanest factory everythin
It's got no motor mods , stock exhaust wheels 174kays
Tape player, a/c works had rwc done! Just as a rough figure
what u reckon it's worth !
Its value depends on many things. Are you sure it is a genuine A9Y turbo (in which case there were only 50 made)? Does it still have matching numbers on the engine?
Realistically and with enough cash any mods you do can be undone and the car returned to stock. With the exception of selling off the serialised parts. If you separate the engine it could be almost impossible for the original engine to find its way home and the car wont be worth anywhere near as much to a collector without matching numbers. What do you mean it wont get rego again? Also have you considered selling it and buying an exec/SL to do up?
Personally I get the feeling this guy is just trolling. If this is true then he has my hearty congratulations. Such wit will surely have him remembered as the greatest comic writer of the modern age. The laughs will echo through eternity.
I brought it off the original owner! This week!
Engine number matches the Holden invoice an rego!
It won't have rego as I need to have 6 point cage in my setup
I just didn't think vlct wagons were worth much or sort after !
I stripped a Vl sedan I brought that ran a 9 by maatouks an was goin to
put all the gear in this wagon! An never rego it just track car

ill buy you a low rust sl wagon and swap you?
I have one of these sitting in my shed down at Phillip island it will be a waist of a Calais wagon seeings as u won't to paint it and gut it.. Just do it all to a fair wagon shell
They are worth whatever amount of money a collector wants it for, just like HDTs... if i was in your shoes id be either keeping the wagon or selling it to another member here (assuming its a genuine A9Y Turbo ; check the tags etc etc) and just look for a fair N/A wagon body from an oldie and do everything to that

Absolutely. Why not just stick an add up in the for sale forum with however much you want for it and see if you get any interest? If you dont want too much for it I would certainly buy it.
And depending on what you paid for it, you might make abit more $$$ then what you paid for it, being able to buy an N/A wagon on the cheap, pay for some rust repairs (if it needs it), buy calais popups and other bits and pieces and be happy with some more cash in your wallet.
And another lucky member looking to buy a genuine Calais Turbo Wagon finds their car and keeps it immaculate and standard...
Think about it this way, there's 200 of these cars around (n/a and Turbo). Minus 50-100 from crashes etc etc. 80 are known on this site. ONLY 50 BEING TURBO. These cars are rarer than most HDTs, considering there were 500 of each built by Brocky and the boys...

Engine code is for an RB30. Do you have any pics?
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Really appreciate it if you could post up the Calais tags and pics of the car so I can add it to the register when you get a chance ? Thanks.
