****! That wagon is nice! I didn't think the chrome bits would look good painted black.. but looks awesome with the roof racks! And my car sucks, I've replaced the distributor cap and leads (there was a tiny crack coming from the number 2 contact on the inside) and it still has a steady miss. Might buy a new plug set this weekend, already checked the plug from cylinder 2 thinking it might be fouled up and it looked alright though. Who else is having really trivial car trouble? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeh i got trivial car trouble but mines supercharged, when did you do the fuel filter last?blocked filter?fuel pump crapping out? wonder if i can make a royale calais wagon????

Dont know about the weird color scheme on that wagon, the before pic in his avatar looked better. Have tossed around the idea of building a Royale wagon for a daily, Royale Seats and trim are nice, as are all the creature comforts.

Hey yeah dosen't look to bad I think I'll be shaving my tailgate anyway and putting the sedan number plate insert into the bumper

I trust the number plate will be sitting level and not on some crazy angle...

LOL yeah it will be straight I'd go nut's if it was crooked What would you do to a wagon to make it a Royale ?

Bugger about that tailgate eh.. don't worry though cause whatever you do your's will look better.. Both those colours don't look good to me, and together.. uh, yeah.. Havn't touched the fuel system, but it really feels like an ignition issue rather than starving for fuel, revs evenly throughout the rev range.

Royale Grille and lower door moulds, with the chrome strip, Correct Royale wheels with the locking centre cap, as well as Royale/Calais Pontiff badges. For the interior i would transfer all the electrics and A/C gear into a donor berlina wagon, as well as the front seats and trim, Hoodlining and rear seat would be tricky, would need to weld brackets for the headrests like HDT did with some of the non-A9Y wagons, but with a bit of cutting and shutting you could make the sedan covers fit the wagon seats, and for hoodlining you would need two royale ones in good cond. to sew together.

S1KVL - Crooked number plates are foolly sik tho! Every time I see one I really wanna give the owner a new bolt so they can straighten it up again. Clearly they can't afford one themselves! Irontusk - did ya get round to check your leads with a multimeter? What about the rotor in the dizzy? You checked/replaced that? calais3L - that sounds like a massive/sh1t job! The electric windows look like a pain in the ass to do, think there is a tech thread somewhere on how to do it. Replacing complete doors would easier. A/C would be hard too - you do know you're not supposed to vent old A/C gas into the atmosphere... You would really have to love Royales to do this!

yeah seem's a big effort, it be one way to confuse the crap outta any Holden man who see's it and Wagon rear door's are different shape than sedan one's

Most VL A/C systems have no gas anyway! You would need to see an A/C specialist for the conversion from R12 to R134a as well. Rear regulators are something I would like to avoid trying! the easiest way to do it would be to scour the wreckers for a Berlina wagon with the power pack and take the rear doors complete.

Good point on the doors - forgot about that. Lookin at the mechanism in the rear doors, its probably the hardest one to make electric too. Bugger. Good point on the gas - luckily for me, mine had none in it when I ripped it out. Intercooler now resides in the aircon coolers place.

venting the gas to atmosphere is fine so long as you dont do it at work (or get caught!) But im not known for caring about the environment.

Nah I havn't put an ohmeter on the leads, but the leads I have on there now were working fine on my other VL. There's parts of that Royale conversion I just wouldn't bother with! Hoodlining is a bit of a prick, and the electric windows! It's worth mentioning that most (or all?) Berlinas have A/C to start with though. Lol and you'd have to get that stupid steering wheel in there too.

good point about the steering wheel
