its actually better to raise the comp rather then lower it on e85 engines.

On a Typical healthy Rb motor you'd be looking at around 40rwkw picked up from timing from 98 octane straight up, then if you have a big turbo theres always a healthy dose of boost... so sometimes way over 100rwkw gain.. cheers darren

as tuxedo said i am running caltex eflex and its fine, woodcroft is the closest servo to me too so thats why i went with it. my car was tuned on it and thats all i run in it. My tuner has his own cars on the eflex too and hasnt had any dramas.

mine was supposedly made 608rwhp on 98octane on 23psi through my glide which was a mega raging gay dyno imo, anyways got my car redone on united e85 on 21psi and made 610rwhp on Maatouks dyno which is a low reading dyno and im sure it would have made more power but the cooler piping blew off before the run finished. So in my opinion there was a big difference between the fuels and performance

As has been mentioned above, UNITED seems to be the way to go, was advised by a very reputable tuner/workshop to avoid the Caltex Ethanol fuel if you wanna give your car a good caining...they did say its ok for daily commuting...but avoid otherwise.

At the end of the day, its a worthwhile conversion. Much cheaper than 98, makes more power and smells great too!!

mark mills tunes my car (madaz motorsport) he only works from home now. he has done a range of cars on eflex and they do cop a caining. all are fine so far, but hey end of the day everyone has their own opinion. no doubt in my mind that the united is better and doesnt vary as much, all im saying is mine was tuned on eflex and has been fine so far. and it doesnt get driven nicely. like i previously stated only reason i went eflex over united is availability for where i live and my tuner said he hasnt had any dramas with it.

I have also been told by my tuner to stay away from the caltex e85. I get the drum e85 from scotchers race fuels and add some 98 to bring it down to e60 as my tuner has told me you still get the same benefits from it and don't need a massive fuel pump and as big injectors.

I fill up at woodcroft eFlex aswell, same reason as sean. havent had any problems with the fuel so far, car made good power, runs and idles well and as mentioned before it isn't going to knock/detonate. heaps safer to tune on. your tuner will love it as it makes their job easier not to mention makes them look better. more hp/safer tune etc. im getting decent fuel economy aswell considering. im also using a haltech platinum with wideband 02

I'm using United e85 and made 352kw lastnight. It's still got a fair bit more left in it bit it so we're going to have a bit of a play with it again friday night. The most I could make with 98 was 305kw lol e85 ftw. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Mate converted his twin turbo vy ss to e85 other week. Previously on 98 it made 448rwkw on 13psi. e85 same boost went 501rwkw. 16psi it went 550rwkw. So the improvements to be had are insane. Boosted cars respond best to it. Then big comp NA combos.

Whats involved in setting your car up for e85 apart from a new tune?

Usually at least 1/2inch fuel lines and 2x044s, 1600cc injectors etc
