Are they a semi-slick

Drag radials, kind of like semi slicks but drag tyres instead of track tyres. Even more sticky but you won't fit anything more than a 235 60 15 under there.

So I'm guessing u can't legally use them on the street then and being a drag tyre do they have to be warmed up before you get maximum traction with them. You've lost me on this 2step fill me in lol

Most drag radials are still road legal. 2step is a form of rev limiter, it basically holds the revs at a predetermines level and violently bashes an ignition cut, to make it spool up and make heaps of noise in the process.

Drag radials are basically the same or similar rubber compound of a drag slick but with radial (normal tyre) belt construction. This means they are essentially a normal tyre but stickier. Drag slicks walk or wobble and wrinkle around the tyre, so you have to have the same kind of tyres at the front (frontrunners) or you will end up in a mess and probably crash. you cannot run slicks on the back and normal tyres on the front at the drags. Drag radials however can be run with normal tyres on the front. Roll up and swap rear tyres and then run. Yes drag tyres require a burnout to get them sticky a short 5 second one is the max required. Right. Used as a launch control to spool up the turbo. essentially its anti-lag, but only as a launching device. This is probably too much info right now lol. just get it tuned and have a couple of runs at the drags and enjoy what sounds like an animal on the street, then get serious about tyres and launching... once you go down that road you only break **** and spend money.

^yep ahah in the words of marc at c-red 'its like hitting your turbo with a hammer' ecu retards the timing, which in effect detonates fuel earlier, causing higher exhaust gas temps that make your turbo to spool while you're stationary. then you pop the clutch and off you go. either that or blow your diff/gearbox. or melt your cat. or shoot the exhaust wheel of your turbo out the muffler. sounds good but.

Spoke to all the performance shops the fella at BYE seemed to know his stuff and was cool so I reckon il go see him. Can't get in for a few weeks though which sucks but gives me time to fix some stuff on the car and have a play. Been driving it all week cos I'm on break just getting use to the old vl handling again - but loving it. 1st and 2nd just lights up the rears once it hits 15 pound or so, 3rd gear is awesome but have to feather the throttle and keep boost under 20 pound cos my wastegate is stuck closed (gets fixed Friday) so not driving it hard but it is an angry car that loves the revs. 8 grand gear changes all day long Doesn't run hot, drives real well turns heaps of heads. Only runs like a pig when it's cold but as soon as temp hits 180 no worries. Fella at BYE told me its cos can't tune microtechs for cold start so its just running rich pumpin the fuel in Keen to organise a cruise soon if any1s keen Cheers
