Turbo is as they sell it. still has restrictor in place. got a note with the turbo saying if it is removed it voids warranty so not touching it. as for oil i checked the oil feed and return while engine was cracking and all was good. oil pressure was at a max of 70 psi at 6000 rpm so that can't be a problem with the restrictor being in place.

Bang for buck these are excellent. They are a step up from the garrett series we all know and love. Will be redundant soon due to new technologies, but I'd imagine these will be the affordable option for another few years at a minimum. It's a shame it takes us so long to catch up in Aus.. especially on my side of the country

Im pretty sure he is the Australian distributor for them. I would not buy from them again as the customer service is crap. I have been ringing them for the last week as thats where Kyle from 6 boost got mine from and he has not returned any calls or klyes calls either. Kyle gave me another number for someone in Sydney. Let me know if you want his number.

Have you pulled the turbo down? Does the turbine still spin? Jump across onto the Yellow Bullet forum if you get a chance and have a read on some experiences with the 88mm precisions.

It still spins just has heaps of movement in the shaft. Have already ordered another one as i can't wait another 4 months for dragons lair to do something about it. When they replace it i will just sell it.

Get your oil flow spec and make sure, almost sounds like not enough oil.

We took the oil feed line off before we started to make sure it was flowing. it pumps heaps of oil so its not that. Its got a Barnes dry sump pump on it and i got oil to the top of the motor turning it by hand before we started so i know its not a oil feed issue. ---------- Post added 25-10-12 at 19:21 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by chasdm [View Post] I have just purchased one through Kyle, I hope i havnt made a mistake Hope precision have a good customer relations program and can sort this out! 4 months seems like a long time. Otherwise, who Knows! My turbo felt funny when i spun it. I put a little oil in it and it felt fine. I rang Kyle about it and he didn't say much. I only say 4 months as that's how long it took to get the first one. No fault of kyles its who he ordered it from. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Nah nah I mean flow of oil for the turbo, manufacturers usually have a litres per min amount as well as pressure. You should always set it up, but no one does it.

The turbo already has a restrictor on it. you can't change what they have or you void warranty and there was oil coming out the drain to as that also got checked. I did set it up on my other motors but was told i don't need to with this one as it has the restrictor on it already.

I know it's an old topic but as some people use these as decision makers, it's worth keeping in mind what is still current. "Precision Turbo & Engine" DO NOT SELL PARTS FOR THEIR TURBOs. BACK TO THE USA for warranty and nice wait time to get back on the road and usually the cost of a the whole cartridge as it will be an exchange unit coming back. Garret However are repairable, Local Aussie Businesses such as Fred from Turbologic or John from Precision Turbo Wetherill Park (John has no affiliation with the USA PT&E Manufacturer) can repair almost everything in them as parts are easily obtainable here.
