hey guys, check this out for some info - Did you all know that BJ owned in excess of 140 companies, at one stage in the early 2000s, and is estimated worth a cool $50M - Why would he really worry about running a night that'll turn over $15-25k on a busy night at best?

hes a ****head , like one of the other blokes said , 45 bux in brisbane ....... that is an awesome price tag but 130 is just robbery and to make it worse you go there and the comp cars piss and **** something out on one pass and we have to sit there and wait for 5 hours at that price they would want to have 1000s of workers on the go how much is heathcote ?

Im surprised mr startline (calder park spokesman) isn't here to clear things up. Guys i understand your frustration 110%. Bob Jane and that venue just keep coming up with new bull**** everytime in favour of themselves only and nothing to benefit the poor racers and spectators out there. This is what happens when you know someone in parliment who helps mr bob jane fund his mad max venue and give him 10 odd million dollars to put a few more high school chairs in the grandstands and then wants to charge mega dollars to race. Thats why more people would take there business out on the highway and the government doesn't give a crap because they got highway patrol out there to **** everyone and keep the cash flow coming in. Then today tonite or ACA will put together there special hoon segment on the street drags (like we never seen that before) when they should be looking at why and how is this happening and why didnt we get a world class drag racing venue proposal approved. Lets face it, if Calder Park was such an awesome track, we would have top fuellers and funny cars etc doing proper full passes not stinky half track showbag passes where the public get ripped off to see these horsepower monsters blow the tyres off the line lol

Haha, well said. I can appreciate everything that your all saying, and that is way too much cash to make a couple of passes. But.... By the time us canberrans load the cars up, drive to Sydney, race, load back up and drive home we are $300+ out of pocket with fuel and dinner etc, and have wasted 6 hrs of our lives for the drive up there and home. All because the government actually took our drag strip. At this stage we'll never have a drag strip again, let alone a group 1 prepared track. Plenty of highway warriors in canberra because of it, and they wonder why...

Sorry stocker, I was never the Calder Park spokesman, I just prepped the track... I finished working there mid 2011, when I was told it cost too much for me to prep the track, they were getting the gardeners to do it... But they still wanted me to work on the startline, so the racers would think that I had prepped the track. I refused, stating I wasn't going to put my name to work I hadn't done, and if there was an accident or cars weren't getting down the track, the racers would look at me as not being capable of doing my job, so I left....

Startline I agree that you took pride in your work. You cant get top fuelers or funny cars to do full track passes on your own, obviously that is out of your control. So what you are saying then is without you, calder park has a pack of burkes backyarders doing some gardening on the startline? If so this is a serious safety issue and this needs to be looked into. Our safety and our cars shouldn't be in the hands of such an iresponsible venue. So we are paying $130 to $190 to have gardeners prep the track and bob jane can save some money on vht and proper officials?

i wouldnt blame bob jane!! blame Ian what ever his surname is, he is the events manager at calder park! And why is calder park finishing at 6pm on saturday????? Thats f****d!!!!!!

Exactly mate, simply way too early to end a drag meet especially when not everyone can get in early. Also being in a residential area it is conflicting with nearby residents. Its a real shame that all the effort put into motivate melbournes new track didn't go ahead especially alot of the big name drag racers putting in their time and effort who now unfortunately cant enjoy a world class track in melbourne.

I wont be putting up with any of their bull****, i wont waste my time and money, nor will i go heathcote and spend half a day driving. They don't deserve our time and money and id rather take my business alongside the other fellas out on the highway.

calder park is at it again boys web site says that last meet was the only one where they will have entries at the gate!!! so i guess its back to b******t and online entries for anyone whos planning on racing this friday night!
