Probably tidy up the black paint as I don't really want to strip everything out - perhaps something to do later on. Wheels are 18x8 and 40p offset with 225s. Decided not to go staggered and keep things simple. Tried to avoid going too wide as the current mag and tyres arent a good combination - the front wheels rub on the struts in the straight ahead position!. Your car is looking awesome. PS the new tailights look mean! ---------- Post added 16-09-12 at 20:18 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by NZ-SXYHDT [View Post] busy boy eh, good to see progress. with the new head lights, you could run the factory holden lenses on the thaiwanese body, lenses clean up well. just small thing but makes a difference when you look at it. keep up the good work Been quite busy. Thanks for advice on headlights. The original lenses are in good nick so will probably do that. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I did hear the tyc head lights can some times be hard to focus. One of the other guys might chip in here that have had the experience. I'm going to do mine at some stage I think. Make them look a **** load cleaner.

The TYC headlights are pretty sh1thouse. Best thing to do is to pull apart your old and new headlights, then install the new reflectors, glass and seals etc into the old housing (black part). Pretty sure there is a how-to in the technical section. The TYC adjusters are useless.

Thanks I orginally was trying to find just the reflectors to replace but I couldnt find any. I will swap over the new reflectors and seals and put them in the old housing like you said

Will need to clean 24 years of dirt from under the car! Took out petrol tank - quite an exercise. It needs clean and paint. Decided that I will remove diff and suspension, and clean and underseal whole under body as it has a little bit of surface rust but no holes . A bit more work but better to do it properly Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think I got it just in time. Nothing that a clean and paint wont fix. I have invested in some POR 15 so will see how that goes Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just an update. Started at the back. Ready to remove diff and rear suspension. Surface rust developing Pulled diff out took a fair bit of time, work and swearing! . Bolts had pretty much ceased and needed brute force. Must be leaking oil and was covered in crap. I stuffed up one end of the brake line, will probably replace the whole line that runs along the diff. Had quite a bit of rust on it anyway Diff after a bit of degreasing and cleaning. Looks like it will come up pretty good after repaint. Suspension arms will need repainting also. Will check and maybe replace all bushes. Rear shocks where absolutely stuffed, they had no resistance and were leaking. Also got a couple of litres of underseal to start on underbody Wheel bearings probably need replacing as well (one side a bit noisy), dont know hard they will be to replace. I understand the bearings need to be removed and replaced with a press. Ive read on one or two forums that a hammer and some persuasion works but might seem a bit crude! Any suggestion welcome Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Haha yeah they look like steam rollers! Probably just the angle of the photo. They are actually 255s which were on the car when I got it. They are a bit too wide - the front ones rub on struts
