does it actually boil and push water out if not maybe the gauge is wrong check the water temp with something else if it has been overheating for seven years you would of had to fix the motor more then once

Put standard clutch fan FTW forget cfm's n stuff thermos unless specialy set up are a compleat waste. Check and or replace entire cooling system y not its sooo cheap these days and you won't need to bothere with cooling issues ever again. Use stock as a bench mark in most cases aftermarket innovation dose not fit the picture un you Know cooling systems back the front. There not as simple as they seem and are one of the most important features in a cars anatomy

Single 12" thermo will not be enough...been tried many times on VLs...you'd want a good shrouded 16" thermo as a minimum, or EF-EL twins... Put clutch fan and factory shroud back on, problem solved.

Its never boiled i've always turned it off before it gets too hot, u may be right. I might b able to borrow the temp gun from work and double check it. I'l start with a clutch fan this weekend and go from there! Got a price on original 3 core with cap on top $530 from my local repco, thatd sound about right?! Yea cooling system i dont understand very well, best left to the pro's i think!! ---------- Post added 08-08-12 at 05:28 ---------- Waiting on a quote from radiator place to supply, fit and bleed system aswell.

Yea i bought au fans an cut and shut it to fit, only to find it wont fit as my cooler piping is in the way!! ---------- Post added 08-08-12 at 10:15 ---------- Yea i bought au thermo's and trimmed it to suit and it wouldnt fit with my cooler pipe going thru there! So i chucked it out. Got the price from radiator shop for the radiator, new hoses, coolant and to bleed the system properly for $550, i think that, with a clutch fan might solvesolve my issues. Will go with that i think!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Running a full forged bottom end, port flowed head, wade cam, deka 610cc injectors, LINK G3, T3 high flow(18psi) blah Blah blah, car was running hot at one stage, replaced the clutch fan, bled the engine when hot, made sure I had the radiator shroud on, since the new clutch fan I've never had a issue's with over-heating. Just made sure the timing was set right.

Satan ur engine me be bored out to the max which makes the cyclinder walls thinner so the heat gets through quicker causing high engine temps I'd be buying a low temp thermo stat this will help buy not letting your engine get to higher temps befor opening
