Hey bud just qurious, did this only happen after u changed the cas the first time or has it been like this befor then??? If it only started after u changed cas maybe u put the disk in the dizzy on backwards and its fooling the ecu into dumping fuel and ya timing up aswell, just a thought

I was driving the car without a problem for about 2 years and then that problem started. It had the symptoms of a crank angle so i replaced it with a new one. Problem persisted. Replaced the entire dizzy with one from a working car and it was fine for a bit but then it started playing up shortly afterwards. Your spot on though, it was a fault with some of the wiring, slightly torn off, which caused the ECU to not transmit the data properly and therefore stuff up the CAS and timing as you mentioned and some water was somehow coming through the edge of the windshield and was dripping water on the ECU, a mate of mine found some water inside the ECU so that probably also had something to do with it.

To be honest not sure as i changed a few things at once despite having already tried them previously. My guess is the ECU and fixing the wiring from the ignition and the ECU. The auto elec would have the car running and would just jiggle the key slightly and the car would die down.
