Try pumping your tyres up to around 40 psi you wouldn't believe the difference it will make

I doubt it I'd be giving it a good service new plugs new fuel filter pump the tyres up I would put the standard air box back on with k&n filter And run 98 that's about all you can do you can get the injectors serviced and maybe drop the diff ratio but yeah if your still not happy I'd be looking for a new car :-)

pod filters can increase fuel economy by a tiny bit, but they decrease power, dont believe me that they decrease power, look up mighty car mods on youtube, the myth bust the pod-filter.

do a major service, plugs leads the lot, but use engine oil flush before dropping the oil runn the car for about 15 minutes on idle, then let every last drop of oil out of the block, use 20w50 mobil 1000, redo the timing if you can be ****ed, change your belts while your at it, and trust me your car will run like a dream. ---------- Post added 07-08-12 at 21:08 ---------- also note that when you fill your car up, allways try to do it at the coldest point of the day because you can get more for your dollar believe it or not, petrol expands and contracts like all fluids.

Don't forget a new water temperature sensor(for the ECU - not the sender for the temp. gauge on the dashboard). Dirt cheap @ $25 or so, and 2 minutes to install. The cheapest/easiest sensor you can buy & install yourself. And one of the most important in obtaining good economy.

Maybe try running a fuel injector cleaner or two through your car. Your problem could be crappy fuel or foreign stuff (water from condensation, dirt etc) getting in the fuel lines.

If no one can fix your fuel gauge then your taking your car to the wrong people. Fuel economy can change due to other parts of the car other than the engine. Auto, diff, wheel bearings, electrics, wheel alignment. Etc
